Thermaltake Core P5 Owners' Club - Page 112

I just thought I would post this for other members that are interested. I had been looking for a while, for a lighting style system for this case, given the open nature of this case regular lighting would not work. It is because of this open nature that I began looking for a projection based lighting system and I think I have found the ticket.

Xoxide.com sells mini projector led that could be attached to each of the 4 pillars on the case allowing you to shine the adjustable lamps back at the case.

Let me know what you guys think about the projection style lights. Links below to seller and a review for the lights.

thank you

I have the same GPU and Motherboard, and it looks like the new ones (v2) don't work either. My system won't boot when using the riser cable, and shows an ASUS Q-Code error "62".

Going to try and wrap mine in additional shielding to see if the fixes the issue as soon as I get home form my business trip in a few days. Hopefully that fixes the issue, because I doubt Thermaltake has a v3 cable that will work at this time.

I'm planning on buying a Core P5, But i have 1 question about the space for the cable management

Is it possible to fit an aquaero 6 (without the bay ofc) in it with his connectors?
Ik would like to make a sleek design so the aquaero can't be in sight.

Has anyone tried it? does it fit?

Thanks in advance!

I would think you could mount it in the bottom of the case with the connections for the fans pointed up. What are the dimensions of the aquero board?

Those are interesting, my only concern would be projection distance. Not sure if they would be so close they would just put a spot beam on the point they are pointing at. Maybe if you crossed them (like car speakers are designed) to light the opposite corner, they would defuse and spread out the light.

I came up with a simple way to light the inside. Just received my Strix 1080 so once my block is released and arrives, I will post up the pictures. thumb.gif

I can't find dimensions online, some say 10x5x5cm, but i find that a rare dimension. The board is made to fit in a 5.25" Bay, So i think the LxW is max (i think it's smaller) 149mm x 42.8mm ,then you got the height, that can't be more than 20mm including cables/connectors.

Will it fit out of sight ^^?

It's just 2 P5's, side by side with a couple bits of tubing between them . . .

Doesn't even have a single plexi front panel to cover both chassis giving a unifying look, just the 2 original ones with the top inner mounting rods removed

No particular engineering skills involved, or significant challenges to overcome, . . .

None of the usual details done to make it a pro looking build, like having the res mounted over the rad cutouts without a trim panel, no excising the cable management tabs that stick up, having the rad over the mobo's CPU cutout area with no trim panel . . and the list goes on . .

Just big, bright, and blingy without much real work to get it that way.

You bring up some interesting ideas, thank you.

Unfortunately for this build I was up against an extremely tight deadline for the CaseMOD Invitational - this made many customisations impossible within the timeframe.

I would dispute that there wasn't "much real work" - many many hours went into the project.

So I bit the bullet and got this case and now getting into watercooling for the first time. I'm getting the Ek-Kit x360. I'll be adding a gpu and my mb asus maximus viii formula to the loop. Do you all think the 2m of tubing that comes with it will be enough for all this?
