Thermaltake Core P5 Owners' Club - Page 134

@ThermalMike

My graphics card periodically loses signal to the monitor. Doesn't seem to happen when directly into the board. I've got a good feeling that it's the PCIe riser cable. I heard there is a new version of it for those experiencing issues? How can I go about getting one of these? Thanks

Private message Mike and he'll send you a new version of pcie riser.
I got mine pretty quick, however it doesn't work either. older or newer version, my motherboard won't boot with it connected to pcie 3.0 slot, it works only in 2.0.
I had different motherboard before( Asus Gryphon z97) and it didn't work either, so it's not mobo related. So dissapointed and fed up with Thermaltake, my first and definitely last product from that brand. Hilarious is that you can buy that Thermaltake pcie riser on Amazon for £34!!!

Has anyone tried aftermarket, higher quality, ones? I am now becoming really concerned as I will be running dual GPU and want to have it side mounted requiring me to use the riser

Hi Melody,

Just a quick question about your build.
My setup is similar to yours with 4 fans on each side of the radiator.
Just wondering how did you route the cables for the fans to the back?

Don't know where can I sort the fan cable through to the back.

I am push/pull also. What I did was take the connectors off temporarily, slide the cable through the long screw holes on the side of the rad, then put the connectors back on. thumb.gif

Yes, if you have a problem with the original riser cable, please message me and will get a request setup.

I have had great results with the new cable design, "IF" you are having issues in the first place.

I know the QTY of cases sold in the USA and I handle all the cable requests, so it is very small qty.
I also know not everyone mounts the card with the riser cable, but all I see is you guys showing that GPU facing front!

It is not a guarantee, I know that, nothing really is, but I have seen more issues being with GPU's that have modified PCB vs NVIDIA reference (just to give an example)

I bought and tested just about all of those aluminum 3M risers, even the 300mm one that is very expensive, they do work, but we also confirmed some issue as well.

it really is a toss up based on what GPU/MB combo you get and modifications done to the GPU from reference PCB design.

I don't have the system yet but I am going with a MSI Z170A XPower Gaming Titanium Edition running dual Dual MSI GeForce GTX 1080 Gaming Zs in SLI. I know you can't test this setup yet so the question comes down to policy on refund if I buy the extra PCI-E riser cable and have problems.

ahhh yes.doh.gif
was wondering how did everyone slide the wires through the long screw holes.
Ok just did that.

doh.gif just realised these TT RGB fans are 5pin connectors.
Anyone else has the TT RGB fans? How did you guys connect it to the MB.
Right now the only thing i can think of is connect the fans into the RGB controller, connect those into the Commander FP – 10 Port Hub for PWM Fans then connect it into the MB.

I got a new version replacement and it works just as old, means it doesn't.
My pc boots only when using bottom slot which is pcie 2.0, all others 3.0 no display signal. I've changed BIOS settings of pcies manually to gen3, it did help for a bit but then I was getting crashes when gpu under load.
My card is Gigabyte 980ti Windforce 3x oc, my current motherboard Asrock Z87 OC Formula(previous one was Asus Z97 Gryphon and it just didn't work the same way). Does it mean you've made a case to show off gpus, made a pricey pcie riser that supposed to get that gpu working and you simply blame gpu manufacturers for your fail?? Sorry Thermaltake, I'm not having it
