Out of interest did anyone else find that the psu clamp which screws into the psu didn't accurately line up with the psu holes?

I'm using an EVGA P2 power supply if that makes any difference although I think it's just a bad finish on the thermal take clamp.

I also found that the motherboard didn't even sit flush once the stand offs were installed,as if the front of the case isn't level. So I had to push the motherboard down in certain places in order to get it screwed down to the standoffs.

My motherboard isn't bent as it sits perfectly flat in other cases I own.

I like the P5 but not impressed with the one I've received as there are a lot of little niggles with regards to the finish.

Blackstar/Starman - Update

Stage 1 - Install and customize EKWB 360 Predator AIO + Riing light LED fans + 3mm LEDs to waterblock. - DONE

Stage 2 - Add 2nd EK QDC and EK-RES X3 250 last week. - DONE

Stage 3 - Add another EK QDC to EVGA/EK Hydro Copper water block in two weeks. - Need risers so I can use shelf - will have three cards total (2) GTX 980Ti Hydro coppers & (1) GT 610 for Physics.

Stage 4 - Converting Mobo from EVGA SLI P67 i7 2700K Sandybridge to EVGA Z170 i7 6700K Skylake and going from DDR3 2133 to DDR4 3600.

In going with the EKWB 360 Predator AIO is really cool in the fact I do not have to drain system. Because of the QDC's I can swap out any part of the loop and not have zero loss of fluid from system at all.

Today I am swapping out my first EKWB 360 Predator AIO version 1.0, due to recall from EKWB due to leaking issues of 1 in 10 units having this problem, mine not being one of them. I just got the EKWB 360 Predator AIO revision 1.1 and will swap out one for the other and also be changing the CPU LED's to Green. I'm aslo going to add a ModMyToys HELIOS - Premium LED Green Spotlight behind the EK-RES X3 250 to illuminate it.

Here is Rig now with EK-RES X3 250 added since last update.

I'll update over the weekend or Monday with updated photo.

C-YA!!!

Hi OCD Guy,

Here to help if you need/want to replace.

Email me some pictures of the PSU bracket, should be no compatibility issue with the mounting holes, maybe there was an issue with it in manufacturing.

We can swap it out for you if needed. I will PM you my email smile.gif

But as things stand I need more screws, what type of screw are they so I can go to my local hardware store and see if they have similar?

I'm not sure what "type" they are so I know what to ask for.

We have been collecting all the feedback on the riser cables for the Core P5 since launch.

Most have been fine without any issues. We have also done a lot of testing with mostly high end NVIDIA GPU's like 980Ti and Titans without a problem. (Single and Multi GPU configs)

Riser cables do not have a "set standard" and when you mix manufacture on MB/GPU we have received reports of some concerns on the cables not working.

For this we are looking into a alternate version that is a little shorter than the stock cable included with the Core P5.

We should have some more information very soon, I am waiting for the shipment to arrive atm.

If anyone is having an issue with their Riser cable, please PM me smile.gif

I will work with you if you are having issues with your product, just want to log some info so we can add to our report.

OCD guy, mine lined up perfectly using both my Corsair HX1000 and my Cooler Master Silent Hybrid Pro 1300. Like Mike said below, it sounds like maybe something happened during the manufacturing process. Does it seem like the bracket or the case itself causing the issue?

Very nice Willie! Do you happen to know what EK changed on the revision 1.1? I am not running their AIO but am a big fan of EK so just wondering. thumb.gif

Mike, just wanted to say thanks so much for all the assistance! It is great to see manufactures that follow forums (especially threads dedicated to their products) to provide assistance! thumb.gif

Thanks for the response.

It's actually the clamp itself (the one that physically screws into the PSU that is the issue). No matter what I do the holes don't line up enough for me to screw in. I've tried by simply putting the clamp around the psu itself so the case isn't a factor at all.

I'd have even settled for being able to get two screws in (perhaps in opposite corners diagonally) but there's not enough space to get the screws secured.

The only thing I can do is slide the psu in the brackets but I'd feel more comfortable if the psu was actually screwed into the clamp as it should be.

I appreciate with any mass manufactured product there are a small percentage of units with faults/manufacturing defects etc, but it's just a shame I had to have taken delivery of a unit with issues.

I'd take it up with my retailer but they are awful with regards to the RMA process. I should have just bought from Amazon as they would do an advance replacement with ZERO issues at all.

Just received my Thermaltake Core P5 today thumb.gif
Sadly my Alphacool Eisbecher, the new alphacool tube reservoir line, is a bit delayed... With a bit of luck I have it tomorrow.
It's an essential part for the build so I can't really start yet! My pc is currently still in my Phanteks Enthoo Luxe case.

Hopefully I receive the reservoir tomorrow so I can finish the build this sunday! Looking forward to it biggrin.gif

ps. my 2 cats are excited aswell

Oh, I understand now, its the backside bracket, the big one. I thought at first it was the U shaped clamp. Definitely a manufacturing issue, almost like they drilled the holes wrong. Im sure they use a stamp process for their sheet metal. Probably slipped a little during stamping. Makes me wonder if a whole batch is off because of it.
