Thermaltake Core P5 Owners' Club - Page 32

Yes. Same for me. How did you solve the problem, RMA or?
was not able to solve this, I still using card with x8 PCI-E slot but I dont know where to buy another reiser or RMA, because I heard that they redesign it. To by sure I tested card without riser with all the slots and both GPU and MB are ok.
Hmmm the problem is with performance, you should get lower results with extender and X8. In my case it is more than 30%. You should contact Thermaltake. I did this today.

Sucks you guys are having this issue. I am running a Maximus VIII Formula with MSI 970 with riser cable on the x16 slot with no issues.
Read the post I quoted above from @ThermaltakeMike about the riser issues. They are offering free replacements for people having problems, just follow his post. Hope it fixes your problems!

I was ordering a p5 for a new build. I have a couple of questions and I am sorry I don't mean to chime in at the last second. I have seen everyone's builds and truly beautiful. I was going for a liquid cooled build, http://pcpartpicker.com/p/bxBNRB . How does one match the color scheme knowing your hardware won't match up? And is it better the use ATX for additional PCI slots for SLI, or is it best to use mini for the P5 rig?

First off, welcome to OCN! You will truly love the P5 and looking forward to seeing pictures of your build. As for the ATX question, definitely go ATX. This case is huge and definitely needs a bigger board plus expandability is a huge plus. As for color scheme, there really is no right answer. Most of us pick parts based off what we need and want and color does play a part. Also, you can use colored coolant like Mayhems Pastel to add some color. We also sleeve wires with sleeve or paracord to add some color. Some items can be given a coat of paint if needed also!

I noticed when I made my build, I was not given an option for a water cooler for my i5-4690k. Does this mean it does not need a water cooler for overclocking?

Watercooling is not offered by Intel, it's an upgrade many do for overclocking and aesthetics. I have never overclocked on air but I personally would not.

You only need to delid it, cause Intel really messed up Haswell.
Pop the hood off and you can OC it all you like thumb.gif

So I decided to sell my Thermaltake Core P5.
I emailed Mike February the 3d and got a response on 4 February, but sadly have not heard anything since then.

Even though I really loved the case, it was not very practical against dust and whatnot.
It's a really nice case and possibly the best one I had in terms of watercooling compatibility, just not the right case for me.

I do enjoy watching all the beautiful builds here, some really sick rigs thumb.gif
