Insane expensive though

Yeah, they are expensive but there is no way in hell I would pay that premium. I am actually very impressed with the build quality of my P5. There are definitely some improvements that could be made but nothing that would keep me from using it.

Apparently, we did not share a communicative moment, . . . . so it got what I made for it, whether it likes it or not . . . .

And since I like it, I guess that's what counts most.

I had to ditch the dual fans on the push side idea, as it cut into the room to put the pump / res setup to where I didn't have space for a long GPU.

As it's mocked up now, I have a fraction over 11" for a GPU, . . . and could squeak out maybe another half inch if necessary.

Anyone know how long the 1080 is supposed to be?

Anyway, here's some pics of the progress, oriented vertically, so it looks like it will on its feet or the wall.

Darlene
@ITDiva, what 1080, AIB or FE and what brand/model?

Probably go with the Asus Strix when it comes out, . . . since we know EK will have a block for it.

That's the card I am looking at too since EK won't be making any blocks for EVGA cards this series. Here are the dimensions of the Strix in case you didn't find them yet:

11.73 " x 5.28 " x 1.57 " Inch
29.8 x 13.4 x4 Centimeter

They didn't say they wouldn't make them, just said they weren't in the works at this time. They claim they weren't that popular last time, but I get the feeling there is rough roads between EVGA and EK for some reason. Best way to get them to make them is to hammer them with requests.

I have too agree as it sounds like some sort of disagreement but @Derickwm said probably no non-ref blocks this time. That could be taken many different ways but I definitely can't wait or buy and hope.

No, a lot of requests does not get listened to the way the lack of past sales gets listened to, . . . .

EVGA has a solid core of vocal fanboys, but that did not translate to a lot of demand, meaning sales volume, for blocks for the cards.

If you want to get EK to make blocks for the 1080, then verified block purchasers for prior EVGA cards need to buy the cards and then push EK.

They won't listen much to a bunch of guys whining on a forum, especially if they did not in the past buy blocks for EVGA when they were made.

Now like EK said, if EVGA came out with a totally gangbuster card that high end enthusiasts bought in droves, that would be a game-changer . . .

But what are the odds . . . .

If the past is a portal to the future, then the supposedly high end special editions will be outrageously priced for the performance gains, with stability and bios issues that never get adequately resolved for the relatively high cost of the upgrade version.

Meaning mostly low sales numbers to mostly guys with, more money than wisdom.
