Thermaltake Core P5 Owners' Club - Page 99

Hi guys.

In the process of buying parts, Core P5 was ordered yesterday, cannot wait to get building.

A few questions though, I was wondering about the EK RES X3 400, will it be too big for this case, you think?

Secondly, I cannot find the pump top for the EK res anywhere. Can I buy a EK-XRES 100 Revo, and swap the tank itself for the X3 400? Will it fit?

Build will be:

Asus Rampage IV Black Edition
4930k
Corsair Dominator Platinum 16gb, 2666mhz
2x GTX 1080's not sure of which model yet, depends on waterblock availability
AX1200i
2x 1tb Samsung 850 EVO SSDs
Alphacool Nexxos Monsta 480x80mm radiator
Clear rigid tubing
Pastel white Mayhem dye.

I was gonna get 400mm res but it seems to be too long frown.gif
you can get EK d5 revo top and reservoir separately but in that configuration 400mm res won't fit( unless you dont mind having it sticking out of the case and mounting pump without provided bracket but drilling new holes in the case).

Setting up a dual cascade res for my P5 with a 400 in the rear with a 250 in front of it . . .

It fits nicely with a DDC profile pump . . Using a dual 35X pump for mine,

I tried with a dual D5, but the D5 footprint is just massively bigger when you have a small space to work with.

If you want a tall res beside a 480 rad, using a D5, then you'll have to separate the pump from the res so you can mount the pump physically in front of the res.

Thanks. I might go for the smaller 250mm tank instead then. I already have a D5 pump from my previous build.

The tanks will be interchangeable on the pump-top then? I can buy the pump-small res combo, and put the 250mm res in it instead?

tried to contact thermalmike a couple of days ago because I have a broken riser, 4 days later I'm still waiting for his answer.

I am having to send my riser card back to Germany from the UK frown.gif

I also am having issues with the finish.

as you can see below it is now wall mounted with extra Aio brackets

I also have the flacking finish were the thumbscrews go to hold the back panel on

So I guess I am either going to ignore it or repaint the case. It is very annoying though having spent a lot of time on the case and planing a happy future with it.
But I guess any relationship needs work. I hope that these issues have been resolved in the P3 because I am thinking of buying that one now- it is very cute smile.gif

@ThermalMike is usually very fast to repsond. It is Computex time right now so that might be why there is the delay. How did you guys try to get a hold of him for the riser cable?

still on debate about getting this case, was originally planning on a matax build in a fractal node 804 until i came across this case.Just don't know if i want a monster like this. If using 1 gpu could i cut the tray down and make the chrome standoffs shorter so that the case isn't do deep. I am close to buying as this will be a build over time as funds come in

They just introduced a smaller version if your interested, the P3. Still ATX factor but on a smaller scale to fit AIO's better.
