i ran with 2 sticks of 8gb corsair platinum and 2 sticks of 8gb corsair low power memory and just had to manually set the bios before installing the low power sticks to use 1.50v and it was fine at 1333. i just run the 2 corsair platinum and gave the low power to my dad along with my 4790s

Hello Club

So in an effort to reduce the amount of computers I have, I decided to turn my 5775c system into a MATX build.

So now I'm using the Gigabyte Z97MX-Gaming 5 and it runs great.

So I've played with the new board for a few days and I think I've ironed out most of the bugs with it.

And I got my X-FI to run well with it.

I'm in the chase to get on the list for this club. Got my 5775c dropped into a Z97X-SOC Force yesterday, but no POST, no code, no display from discrete GPU or onboard graphics.

Admittedly not! I had the wishful thinking going on where I hoped I could at least boot to a point where I could update it through software. My Broadwell's already seated under the waterblock and I'd rather not try to drop in a Haswell I don't own if I have to--is this something I can accomplish with Gigabyte's Qflash or am I going to need to look for a new BIOS chip?

Update + additional information: I actually do get some codes if I hit the reset button. It looks like a typical attempt to POST sequence: 15, C2, C3, C5, etc. before shutting down and retrying the same sequence again.

Hello world of Broadwell!

New owner of a i5-5675c ang AsRock Z97M-pro4 for my htpc.

-About intel microcode, AsRock did not updated yet Z97M-pro4 Bios with microcode v13 (request to support team done)
microcode 13 fix list :
MCE kernel panics on Linux under normal usage
BSOD with Office 2016 Installation on Windows
BSOD with Certain Source-engine games on Windows
BSOD with Linux virtual machines on Windows

I'm not sure AsR will update the bios, so did you encountered bsod with microcode v10?

-About voltage, my i5 stock Vcore=1.26 same than my old E7400 oc3.5Ghz, so I am not happy with that.

What are yours stock Vcore?

I try to undervolt, but if I set a Vcore adaptive<1.26 in bios, it does not change anything. Only value >1.26 makes a change.
I tried with Vcore offset =-100mV, Vcore =1.16V but in idle Vcore=0.59V and system is instable.
How can I lower Vcore load without change in Vcore idle?

Here are Vcore of my i5, i7 and Core2duo 7 years old, really disappointed...

Update #2: I've got a digital multimeter. It reads a CPU VCore of 0.7V when I hit power. I'm going to guess my CPU's intact.

Update the BIOS. Don't know how it is with Gigabyte, but with my ASUS motherboard the procedure was a little bit different than the standard flashing via BIOS EZ. It was with special program from Windows.
