Well, 4.2 GHZ 5775C was beating/on pair with 5.0GHz 7700k in games. Even at 4.0 GHZ that thing will beat my 4.9Ghz 4790k so I am not worried biggrin.gif

I only care about fps in games.
You are 100% go to go, then. It'll hit 4.2, I'm sure. Maybe much more as these newest ones seem to be very good samples.

why no k version of that chip ?! maybe that large l4 cash won't let the cpu overclock on a high multi and that's why a k sku was not possible ?

Uh this is a "k" version, the only reason why it's got a c instead of a k is to signify the l4 cache.

Intel just did a REALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLY bad job of marketing this cpu.

boy, you really are coming in on the ground level on this one. Yes, it's unlocked. Yes, it's the best gaming cpu on the planet. What more you want to know? Yes, I beat a 5.0 Kaby Lake with my 4.3 5775c in 90% of games. On z97. With 2400Mhz ddr3 ram.

http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/19145398? And the L4 doesnt really help in timespy like it does in games.

lol blame intel for this i didn't even hear of it until skylake was released, only heard that oh it is the "last gen" processor that intel didn't even sell for a couple of months, blame them biggrin.gif

edit : ok so it is unlocked but it just happens that it doesn't clock as high as the other sandy and above cpus ? maybe due to the large cache ?
