Internal VS external loop

Thread Starter
For cooling my sig rig (4930k and 4XR9 290) on a corsair 750D what would work best?

I can only fit a 240mm radiator at the front because dual psu's with cover and a 360. If i would go external i was looking for a single MO-RA3 360 PRO.

I'm not looking for great performance just quiet operation.

External is better for both performance and noise reduction. Especially if you install pump outside the case with radiator, because it is main source of noise and vibration, aside from radiator fans.
You can put rad+pump somewhere far from your pc, hide it, to reduce noise even further.
As for performance, external radiators perform better because they are not cooled by preheated air from the case. Also airflow is never affected by any mesh, and case panels, shape of air intakes etc. From my experience all extermal radiators performed noticeably better.

I have been using an external loop since 2011-12; you don't need anything fancy to make it work. The simpler your loop, the better.

My radiator and pumps are located outside my bedroom in the garden; there's a 30 foot drop to where my loop resides. I used 50-75 foot of 1/4" ID tubing to connect my external to internal loop [7/16x5/8]; Koolance QDC's act as the mediator between the two. 2 MCP350's run the entire loop.

The beauty of external loop is that they are easier to maintain, clean and allow you the freedom to use larger radiators/higher speed fans.
