Uh, then you must have very poor case cooling, a dusty machine, or 40C ambient temps?

All of my AMD cards have idled around 35C.

Gigabyte 380x here and with stock fan curve mine idles at 55ish too cos at stock fan curve fans dont spin at idle. You prob have custom fan curve or your card has different stock fan curve.

Well my load is 70-80c i think, so don't think that's possible.
And i changing my fan speed doesn't really affect my idle temps much it seems, at least not if i it's under audible.

EDIT:

at about 1600-1700 RPM i get 35c, which is 60% of my fan speed:P

BTW all 380/380x idle at 55ish when fans dont spin if everything is ok with card, room temp is around 25°C and you have decent airflow in your case...if it goes over(65ish) that then something is not right with your card, if its lower(in 30s) then your fans are spining.

EDIT: This info came from a guy that works in comp shop and they tested like 10 diffr cards(380/380x) under same room temp in same case
And im talking here about stock clocks, OC and raising voltage should result in higher temps

Okay just got a crash on Visual Studio 2015, my screen went black, then after clicking around it switched to a gray screen and i got the application crash message.
But no matter what i did i couldn't get out of the gray screen.

I could go into sleep mode and out. But nothing more, i couldn't make it turn off with a click etc, no keystrokes did anything. The mouse worked fine though.

I guess my GPU is unstable as always?

At what clocks you run your card? Stock or OC? If its OC you might have pushed it bit too far, try running Heaven to see if same happends.
It might be problem with VS2015 too...specialy if you run pirated version, the one i tried out was buged as hell and was freezing a lot, original should be fine.I dl pirated just to check it out a bit but if you works with it a lot consider buying original.

I had the R9 380x sapphire bios on, which i think was 1040mhz and 1500mhz for memory.

As for VS2015, i runt the Community version.
I sure have had bugs and issue appear, but never something like that.
And well my card has always been problematic since i got it. I am surprised how ppl can even run it overclocked with no issues.

And as for stress testing with Heaven. I can get it stable (didn't try with R9 380x bios though) at higher clocks than i had there.
It works fine in those tests and probably games. But in idle jobb and things that cause it to fluctuate i guess, it will cause some crash at random, at least that's what i assume.

It's like if i overclock with Trixx, i will get corruption at times when the GPU is idle, say opening an image, Photo viewer, it can sometimes blocks appear, which goes away if i change or move the image.
Those can appear in Photoshop as well when working.
But in games i can't find any such things.

Yeah, it seams you might have problem with your card,or with drivers or trixxx...
Your options are reinstaling those, clean OS reinstal or if you can try different card and see if same happends, or try puting your card in other rig(friend, family member) and test how it behaves there. If it get same problems then your sure it card,if not then you might have problem with ram,hdd or mbo

Doubt it's drivers, done so much testing with those DDU and all.

I think MSI Afterburner behaves the same. The artifacts are hard to spot though, i mean it's not like i open an image and it's all over the place.
IT's very hard to reproduce even, but it Will and Can happen.

I don't have much of an option regarding testing it with another rig sadly.
Though again it would take much time. For example, with the R9 380x, i have had no problem really for a month.
Then some week ago it crashed while i was asleep. I am probably blaming that one on Afterburner, had very much issues before if i had that on (even if i didn't overclock). But not too sure it was that one.
Then the problem that happened right now.

Though i think i have seen random corruptions when i have been watching videos, though extremely rare. But i am not sure if it was me being overcautious or not,
it's just one i am pretty sure happened, the subitles became corrupt, but then became fine, and i am quite certain the GPU is to blame for that as it's rendered.

It's weird how idle stuff is what i have issues with, but games are fine. Though then again i haven't really done that much gaming with this card.
