Can some one give me advice on how to lower temps, get a higher clock, stable fps and what not to do(i dont wanna blow up my card)

Thanks:)

Perhaps this is your problem.

Those high temperatures are caused by "Intelligent Fan Control II", sapphire tech support say that it is "a mode for quiet using purpose and target the GPU temperature as 76 degree C.
So that the GPU might up to 8X degree C when running in 3D mode. That is a normal behavior and the GPU can up to 100 degree C."

I see at sapphire web site:http://www.sapphiretech.com/catapage_pd.asp?cataid=67&lang=eng that the 380 nitro with 985 mhz and 4gb or 1010 or 1000 and 2gb,have IFC, and that the one with 1010 and 4gb don't have it.

But Sapphire tech support has send my a VBIOS that removes the Intelligent Fan Control II, with a fan mode that is the "legacy setting as other Radeon product lines". With it I have temperatures between 64º to 71º.
And I see at VBIOS with thit bios editor: https://github.com/Hedzin/TongaBiosReader that fan control type is 0 in that bios, but in mine was 1.

Like you can see at thit image, left is tech support BIOS with 00, right is mine with 01: Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

So you have these options:

- Do a custom fan profile with AfterBurner or Trixx.

- Go to overdrive driver panel section and change the value "target GPU temperature" to less than 80º, it or lees than 72º may give you thermal throttling.

- Give gpu back to the seller.

- Ask sapphire for that VBIOS to flash.

- Change that value at VBIOS and flash (they say that you lose the guarantee if you have any problem, because it isn't an oficial bios).

- Edited: Go to Afterburner settings, enable extended official overclocking limits to create PP_PhmSoftPowerPlayTable. Don't restart pc.

Change this value at windows registry in PP_PhmSoftPowerPlayTable, that is located at [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Cl ass\{4d36e968-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318}\0000].

You have to change this 01 of the image to 00: Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

Then you have to restart windows or restart drivers with RadeonMod, to apply changes.

No, didn't you read his fans are at max already. it's hot because the voltage is too high.

I picked up a R9 380x Nitro edition from amazon, sapphire certified refurb. Anyone have any experience with refurbs? Was only 175 bucks so i jumped on it. Should be a nice bump up from my 7870 ghz edition i think.
