Fractal Define S: two 360s? - Page 2

2 360mm will fit only if they are 30mm thick (or less) with push or pull fans only.

Nevertheless, you can mount:
* either 1x240mm + 1x360mm being 60mm thick with push or pull fans,
* or either 1x240mm + 1x360mm being 40mm thick with push/pull fans as shown below (loop have just been filled this morning and I'm checking that there is no problem with the cooling liquid):

Take a look at this build log: http://www.overclock.net/t/1570312/build-log-fractal-define-s-x99-980-sli-watercooled-lf-reaction-reservoir

I have the Define S too and was going for dual 360 initially, but since I decided to make a custom psu cover I think a 240 instead of another 360 in the front will result in cleaner and easier hard tubing runs.

I read that you can also mount fans like outside the case in the front. Could you push pull 360 that way? Nice build! Can't wait to see the shroud when it's done.

I use two 360s in my Define S. Both are slim rads (27mms thick), Dazmode Darkside LP360. The one in the front is push/pull, the one on the top is only pull. Tight fit but it worked. Basically my sig rig.

Yes, you can fit fans on the outside on the front (as long as they're not thicker than 25mm). In this video you can see it pretty nicely https://youtu.be/xDI49FXXMhk?list=PLwsJLJOYmFPbPzr6EUAE_CqjMKO1d0V0o&t=376 (also an excellent Define S build overall). That's how my radiator setup will most likely look like aswell, 360 top with fans pushing air outside and a 240 in the front with fans pushing air inside.

Thank you, definitely need to update my thread, only posted the updates in my build log thread on a german forum. Hadn't the time yet to translate everything.

Do you have pictures of your build?

Ignoring the dust filter placement, is there not room to mount this fan on the Outside of the frame?

So from outward to inward it would be
Fan > Frame > Rad > Fan

Kyle from Awesomesauce Network did on his build. Check @ 8:30.

I'm just not a fan of losing the dust filter but I may try this. I'll have to see when I get them what I'll do.

Thanks, yea I found a few examples.

Bill Owen (mpctech) did here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NSiHkRMCVog

This case seems like it has the perfect potential to squeeze a lot of power into a small space.
I'm looking at fabricating a "spacer panel" or what on larger cases are just pedestals, to cover the radiators (mounted outside).

Golden perfect setup would be:
  • In the front from inside to outside: Fan > Case > Rad > Fan > Cover
  • In the top from inside to outside: Fan > Case > Rad > Fan > Cover

Would need to fabricate parts for these case extensions.
