Yet another help me pick thread. 3 IPS for gaming

Hello all,

I have been lurking for a bit as I am gearing up to update my rig.

I currently have:
1150 asus deluxe MB
i7 4770k
16 gb corsair vengeance 1866
660ti gpu

I already purchased a 980ti MSI lightning.

I am willing to get another gpu but not two more.

I don't see any real need to go to 2011 v3 at this point.

With that background, I am looking at monitors and am just going crazy!

I play a lot of RPG type games. FFXIV, fallout, witcher, etc. I play a little of everything else but not big into online high fps stuff.

I love good blacks and true colors. I hate LED TVs I love my old plasma but I now have an Oled and it's not too bad.

So I think TN is out but they have gotten a lot better so I would consider it.

I would like to do 3 monitors but if I have a one monitor that can be split that would be ok.

Was thinking of the new 1440p 144hz IPS monitors but I don't want to play the lottery.

So I am looking for opinions on monitors that can be pushed adequately by 1-2 980ti gpus with great colors and blacks. A really nice single is an option but would prefer to run 3. I'd like them to be good enough that gaming on one alone would be enjoyable (for games that lack support or if bezels become to annoying)

Budget is flexible. >1k would be nice but again I'm flexible.

Please share any opinions or experiences.

Thanks!

I am assuming you would want one with Gsync. In the current high end IPS I think Acer XB271HU has the best chance of getting a relatively defect free panel.

I agree, but good luck finding one, let alone 3. They seem to be sold out everywhere. Also, to run 3 screens, you will most likely need to get another 980 Ti

Thanks for the suggestion. I have been eying that panel. I am patient so the shortage isn't a huge concern. The problems I see are:
I am biased against Acer and I have been reading horror stories about the panel lottery. Also for >2400 I don't want to have to ship them back and forth hoping for a good one.
The other downside is I am not sure a pair of 980ti gpus could push 3 of those.
Not sold on gsync, I like ATI and could go back to them down the road.

Makes it hard to pull the trigger on that much money.

it isn't out of the question but I am hoping for an alternative. I am willing to sacrifice quite a bit to spend less and not play the panel lottery.

I was also thinking of the Dell u2515h I know it is only 60hz but I need to sacrifice somewhere it appears.

Thanks for the replies, please keep em coming!

Could a pair of OCed MSI 980ti lightnings do 3 of the xb271hu panels justice?

Pulled the trigger on an Acer x34. Seemed to be a good compromise. It is back ordered so fingers crossed.
