That's because you didn't read the whole topic, this only effects clean installs of Windows 10 with the 1511 update. If you upgraded your Windows 10, I'm sure your fine.

This reminds me I need to swap my memory around since my media center now has this systems memory smile.gif

No idea about 6xx series graphics cards, this might only effect maxwell.

I wonder if the newer insider previews have done something about it.

Care to point out where, during the course of the title of the thread or the text in the OP, you specified this? Your title says "Nvidia is Corrupting Windows for everyone". Might wanna update that. wink.gif

Still not quite accurate, but close enough.... thumb.gif

Shoot, I know this is an old topic but I'm encountering this very issue with my setup... SFC /Scannow comes up with this error every time and I've been unsuccessful to fix it.

Does anyone have an ultimate fix? I still haven't found the answer..even with Google's help...

The actual fix with dism with actual windows 10 is as follows:

first mount your install image wim, from cd or wherever

first mount your install.wim. mounting .esd seems not possible, so convert it or extract it or whatever, or get a iso. it doesnt need to even be exact same version of windows 10.

dism /mount-image /imagefile:d:\where_you_have_it_full_path\sources\install.wim /mountdir:c:\scratch

note: point to the winsxs folder on the mounted image. NONE of the ms guides etc do this. if you point it to the root of the mounted image then it will not work! this is a bug in dism and bad documentation on dism, that they don't want to do anything about. also it will not download the corrupted file automatically from ms, despite the dism documentation implying that it would be doing that.

dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth /source:c:\scratch\Windows\WinSxS

then run
dism /unmount-image /mountdir:c:\scratch /discard

to unmount the image.

so the whole reason this is a problem that is hard to fix is that it's two things that are broken/buggy and not just one - the documented fix doesn't fix it according to the documentation and doing a refresh will leave you with this problem again soon enough and while it doesn't break anything directly it seems it break some windows updates(silently breaks it too, so I think theres probably millions of nvidia users for who windows update is broken and they don't know it. if you wan to make the fix pre-emptively easier just copy your winsxs folder into some place(search for runasti if you have problems copying it) before it breaks and then use that as source to fix when it breaks again.
