Does gigabyte windforce 970 ACTUALLY support true dual link dvi-d or did they bumble it?

ive been fighting with a nvidia 970 (gigabyte g1 gaming) and a crossover 30q5 pro monitor for some time now. Apparently no one can make this monitor work on a newer nvidia card. There are unanswered begging for answers threads all over the internet.

I've been trying to research the monitor specifically and it does have one "feature" which may matter: it ONLY does true dual link DVI-d. No DVI-I, no hybrid anything. Thyis leaves me wondering If the monitor only accepts one type of input, why is it my GPU cannot produce it?

I randomly came across an active display port to dual link DVI adapter for sale on here in the video section. Maybe something like that can do what you need.

I'm using the g1 gaming dual link DVI-D with my QNIX 2710. Different monitor, but the card does work here. Have you tried a different cable?

If your motherboard comes with built in graphics, disable it the BIOS.

The 30q5 monitor only accept a DL (Dual Link) DVI-D signal.

The Display or HDMI ports on your graphics card might be able to work with a DL DVI-D connection.
HDMI and DVI-D are very similar signals, so some HDMI ports on graphics cards will work with the DVI-D port on a monitor.

Personally I would rather use DVI-D, instead of HDMI, for connecting a computer to a monitor.

Your graphics card comes with two ports that a Dual Link DVI-D cable will physically plug into.
One port is the DVI-I port, but I do not think that port supports a Dual Link DVI-D signal.
I believe the card's DVI-I port supports single link DVI-D or analog DVI
The DVI-I port has the cross with the 4 pin holes.

The other port, the one with just the dash (and not the cross with four pin holes), appear to be the one that outputs a Dual Link DVI-D signal, so you should be plugging the Dual link DVI-D cable into it.

A Single Link DVI-D cable will plug into a Dual link DVI-D port, any chance your using a single link DVI-D cable?

I had an hdmi to dvi dual (or single? sometimes they have the pins but not the ability) and I got 1280x800 max rez on the crossover.

The displayport to dvi-d dual is an option. It's a die roll though. of course one I may have to take. I will look for that cable.

It appears ONE of the ports is dvi-dual, and one is DVI-I. which one is not marked. Have a cable that claims to be true dvi dual and getting nothing out fo either port. Thge thing will work for biows boot, and i can even get into bios, but when i boot windows the card shuts down the monitor
