I know they make heatsinks for some pumps... No idea how effective they are though.

Heatsinks may be a problem if the cold loop pumps are well below freezing anyway. Maybe better with fewer pumps. Worth optimizing the number of pumps carefully at least anyway.

Oh yeah, you're right. It's hard to air cool when you're attempting to avoid condensation smile.gif

I say more peltiers to cool the pumps. biggrin.gif

It's not the condensation that's the problem. The heatsinks would warm the pumps up causing even more load on the cold loop.

Oh... right... It would basically act in reverse because the pump is colder than the air. Okay, I got it this time, thanks smile.gif

yea, I see that as a issue as well, so I will build the loop with four and see where just running three puts me. biggrin.gif
because I am eliminating a loop I have two extra pumps.

D5 pumps at 12v? that'll be about 90w. D5 strongs? a lot more for no real benefit. D5 motors are cooled by the coolant so that is basically all heat load.

DDC's? which variant? DDCs motors are not cooled by coolant but there will still be some heat load. If you pack them full of dieletric grease that may complicate things in terms of are they mostly air cooled or getting some extra cooling from the chilled coolant..

you do realize that power consumption is pretty close to heat load right? why are you guessing at a 140w heat load? you have 4 pumps, what type are they and how much power do they use? If it's a D5 then it's easy, if it's a DDC then a bit more complex to figure the heat load but it is less than the power consumption so heat load should be way less than a D5.

I've lost track of what's going on with the chiller. Little refresher for your plans for us?

well D5's are 34watts each so 3 of them would be 102watts and 4 would be 136watts, or about 140watts. tongue.gif

I going to have all the TEC assemblies on 2 water loops, and one of the TEC assemblies, will have a stacked TEC cascade in it. to see how that functions.

I am also thinking about building 6 to 9 air cooled units, to add some more cooing power to the system. for now I am only building 3 air cooled units, to make a single air cooled TEC assembly. I am just trying some stuff out to see how it works. thumb.gif

My D5's are 23w, my DDC2s are 18w

the PWM's are 24watt, I may be wrong, but I think the Swiftech MCP655 with the speed adjuster are 34watt pumps.
ok they are 24watt so 3 are 72watts and for would be 91watts still it is a added heat load to the system and should be considered.
