Even Slacko gave me some trouble, and I'd rather have used that because it's faster than the Ubuntu-based Puppy. But so far, so good...using it right now on my laptop.

Wow, that looks pretty good for Puppy Linux. The last time I tried it we were well into the widescreen era and default resolution was still 4:3 rolleyes.gif

It was designed to used on very old systems that were likely still running at a 4:3 aspect ratio, but you're right--a few years back, support for anything but 4:3 was hit or miss. But it's been able to handle 16:9 and 16:10 for a long time now. It helped that they started using Ubuntu and Slackware as the base for it, rather than build from scratch.

It looks better than it used to because JWM has improved a lot too, with more features than it used to have. You can run other DE's on Puppy, but it still uses JWM by default.

It used to be that you wouldn't want to use Puppy for anything except Mesozoic era hardware, but it's capable of more than that now. It was the first Linux I ever seriously used for anything, to get some use out of old machines.

I like that I get frequent opportunities to stress test my system lol.
Never have any doubts that it's stable anymore.

For some reason it really bugs me that you removed the rounded corners in your old desktop but not your new one. Also I think it looks much better without the arrow tab sticking out of the menu. Just my opinion, obviously. I haven't been able to have a setup looking that nice in years. No free time lol.

Fair enough...your opinion..I respect it....I just choose not give any f****s ! biggrin.gifwink.gif

Seriously thou...I haven't done any adding or removing of any kind. Just installed the themes, and BOOM...profit...happy camper...couldn't care less about round corners(or lack off) and small arrows. smile.gif

I took me about 15min to google the themes and a couple of minutes in synaptic, and then 10-15 minutes to find the icons and finally a couple of minutes in PS CS6 to fix the wallpaper. If you can't find that amount of time to spend on your computer/hobby then my friend I feel sorry for you !
