Since the last thread that had been running for the better part of a decade got shut down with no reason given so I figured I'd start a new one.

This was for another thread in a different forum but it's convenient. I got all Gnomey a couple weeks back after some egging on by some folks I know and it's alright but I already miss Mate and will probably be back on it in a bit I'd imagine.

Good old KDE4 still kicking on my desktop.

Might post my KDE/openbox mix later but it's nothing so fancy.

Doesn't XFCE include a screenshot program? Well you could always use scrot.

Ha ha yes I have a screen shot program, I was just reusing a picture that I used for something else. I knew after I posted someone would call me out on it. Lol!

My MoBo got replaced today because it wouldn't post with my card in it which OFC meant my old install wouldn't boot and I didn't feel like reinstalling and like Unity so 15.10 it is...

Whodda thunk that a Gigabyte gaming board with a locked i3 would go bad but it would explain why I'd had nothing but issues with this card.

You should be able transfer your hard disk to any system and it should boot no problem ( I do it all the time transferring my laptop drive to my desktop and back ).

I also like Unity as a desktop. Had Canonical not made the Amazon crap such an integral part of their desktop, it may have garnered more love from people. But it's just hard to trust them after all the crap moves they pulled on the privacy invasion front.

You can also come pretty close with Gnome, sans the global menu. Dash to Dock in panel mode, with the right theme looks fantastic

Gnome gave me a frowny face after the change I don't know why and it wouldn't tell me cause Gnome. I'm going to find something like my CAC won't build and it'll piss me off but untill then I'm going to enjoy the best desktop after OS X out there.

I'm a huge newb. What are you using to get the console readout of your computer info? I remember running into it a couple months back, but I've forgot already

fooling around with access restrictions and ironing out some wrinkles with my AppArmor profile for Iceweasel (there's no useful preconfiged profile). Something to do with thumbnails doesn't seem to work right but it doesn't throw any errors, just prevents things like uploading to Imgur. Any ideas?

I need to get around to having too much fun doing the same thing, Crunchbang introduced me to openbox and conky but I haven't had anywhere near enough time to get into it. I like your desktop, nice and clean.

I'd post a screenshot, but it is literally stock #!++, no fun happening on this end of things.
