and even suggested a hypothetical Top 25 Cap (or all scores in classes with less than 25 entries) for each team. That'd eliminate a win by sheer numbers of entries.

You are too smart to pick sides huh?.

Most benchers pick Titan-Xs and 980TIs. They don't even consider Furys and Fury Xs.

Sure, you win by quality on top 25s. That's a fact.

But consider the red team mostly composed of 290s, and 290Xs. Still fighting.

I wouldn't say too smart, I'm just not a rabid fanboy. I don't "hate" AMD, I've owned AMD products back to the K6 CPU, up through Slot A and 939. My first nVidia GPU didn't come until the BFG 6800 Ultra, I didn't get my first Intel CPU until the Ivy Bridge I7-3770K (that I still use - it's my X1 entry rig here). I was running AMD processors back when the Pentium was getting spanked. Hell, I owned a Matrox G400 for a while.

When I decided to build a new rig last June, I just looked at the top of the benches threads here. I hadn't kept up with any of the technology since the 3770K build in 2012, didn't have a clue what the direction the wind was blowing. If AMD processors and GPUs had been at the top of the charts, then that's what I'd be running now.

The GPU market the last few years has been skewed green, quite heavily. With AMD only capturing somewhere around 30% of the market share over the last 2 years, I wouldn't have guessed AMD's totals to be anywhere near NVIDIA's.

It was fun though....I love benchmarking. = )

Didnt realise memory clock effected performance that much... (my core clock is 50MHz higher but mem is stock)

If I get a chance I'll push my 290x one more time biggrin.gif

Actually closer to 18% which is why it would be an incredible upset to have RED take this down.

This would only help out the GREEN side, if RED is going to win this its by the number of entries.  Its well established that Nvidia currently is number 1 in GPU power, but not everyone likes to pay top dollar for that last 5% of power and its interesting to see if those who keep a closer eye on Price/Performance ratio can show up.

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

going completely off topic:

i'd be more inclined with ~30% since i would assume NV's marketing slide would include a lot of HPs and dells not in the wild yet that have a discrete for multi monitors and what not. looking at steam (segmenting towards gamers):

you're looking at ~2.1:1 (55:26) or roughly 32.25% after tossing out intel and others.

just saying. smile.gif
