I had the opportunity to test the HTC Vive today. The demo room was about 10x10 feet and the demos I did were job simulator, deep blu, painting, and aperture. The unit I demoed was powered by a 980ti and I think each eye had 1080p. The window screen was still visible, but I think the resolution was definitely enough. The team running the demo said that htc was looking to reduce the space between pixel to reduce the window screen effect. I believe the version I demoed was running at 60fps, which was fine since camera view is controlled by your head instead of a mouse. The headset was very comfortable to wear even with glasses and I did not have any motion sickness during the demo (probably because I was able to move around). The only issue I had was with the cable connecting the headset to the computer, it is easy to trip over it so you really need to pick up your feet when moving around. The demo version was really well polished and I think the consumer version will be better than the rift.
