ATM, the expected ship date is showing July from Oculus.

And yes, you won't get charged until it ships.

Well ok than in that case I ordered one.

They did not charge me so far yes. That is good. I just truly hope that it is early July as my brother in law comes to Turkey at the end of July.

They've mentioned that as the time goes on and gets closer to the end of March, they'll have better estimates of shipping times. The "July" time frame is fairly generic, and since there are so many different regions they're selling to, I'd say it's possible to get it earlier or later, depending on how many they have allocated to your area. I believe they also alluded to some orders being cancelled/fixed, so that will change shipping times as well.

I placed my Rift order pretty early so I should get it March or early April.

Just saw this on pCars forums from the dev team. I was really hoping for some sort of confirmation like this, since it's one of the main reasons I wanted the VR set.

Yeah, I saw that post on the Oculus reddit regarding PCars. Quite cool. I intend to pick it up once I get mine. Hopefully Assetto Corsa will follow suit as I love that game.

Just completed a 7 day marathon of Harry Potter series.

I am just dying for some studio to make a Quidditch VR game.

I had the opportunity to test the HTC Vive today. The demo room was about 10x10 feet and the demos I did were job simulator, deep blu, painting, and aperture. The unit I demoed was powered by a 980ti and I think each eye had 1080p. The window screen was still visible, but I think the resolution was definitely enough. The team running the demo said that htc was looking to reduce the space between pixel to reduce the window screen effect. I believe the version I demoed was running at 60fps, which was fine since camera view is controlled by your head instead of a mouse. The headset was very comfortable to wear even with glasses and I did not have any motion sickness during the demo (probably because I was able to move around). The only issue I had was with the cable connecting the headset to the computer, it is easy to trip over it so you really need to pick up your feet when moving around. The demo version was really well polished and I think the consumer version will be better than the rift.thumb.gif

The Rift and the Vive both have 2160x1200 total resolution (1080x1200 per eye). Also, it runs at 90Hz like the Rift does. Just FYI. thumb.gif

First PC was a IBM 486.smile.gif I remember in high school I borrowed my mums mobile phone for the day and it was a Nokia 918 and remember saying to a friend one day we will have a colour screen and be able to watch TV. Not a bad prophercy for 1996 or round then LOL. Imagine what 2030 will be like for tech!

Same (and I don't regret it at all), and perfect for this thread because the Master System had "VR" glasses peripheral:
