Now that 3360 (public 3366) is here, I lost all interest in other mice - Page 16

Honestly that silver FK looks really friggin nice. I kinda want one TBH.

Regarding spoonsors, I've seen some of the BenQ/Zowie sponsored ORGs using whatever they want due to players you SO MUCH of their stuff, mouse, keyboard, bungee, pad, monitor, etc, that theyt don't care if they use their own gear here an there. Although most pros really do like Zowie mice.

found it ~ https://twitter.com/DeMusliM/status/689482108616577029

it was on sirscoots twitter when he was talking about peripheral sponsors, saying they shouldn't exist anymore and it should be player specific (you're on Cloud9, but you personally have a zowie sponsor), and another eg player chimed in mentioning the doctors note.

steelseries is just your typical business making widgets. they don't care about performance, they care about selling gaming mice in an e-sports focused market. kim rom posts here saying no to decent switches in their mice because it costs 30 cents extra. it's about money and only money. no surprise they don't care about players, the proof is a player needing a doctors note to get out of using a horrible keyboard

I have heard about players and teams wanting to get out of SS sponsorships because of their hardware. half the reason they nailed big sponsors is because Razer killed their sponsor budget around 08 or 09. this is why teams like EG switched from Razer to steelseries, razer wasn't going to give them enough (or not at all) and steelseries didn't mind putting the money into more sponsorships. ~ http://www.hltv.org/news/2319-steelseries-team-up-with-evil-geniuses

Pro players/teams should start their own marketing company [organization] and take some of that sticker money to create their own products.

I have said, for a years now, that pro players don't know their value and don't know how to build a business/brand. If you're lazy, or dumb, you have a middle man do all the business stuff for you and you accept the massive reduction in pay. I hope Astralis is very successful and that success encourages/inspires other players to become businessmen instead of just another employee.

not really realistic. the only one to do this was fatal1ty, can't think of anywhere else that accomplished anything even close. DKT had some products, but in his case you're still using another company to create the mouse, distribute and sell it.

maybe they can try making a mouse or a pad, but you're still left with the issue of needing capital. it's way too expensive to start a mouse company that solely exists to only sell products marketed after one player

fnatic has the right idea so far, own the company and cut out the middle man. way more feasible for teams to do it than players.

it's not a dumb/lazy thing, it's numbers. I doubt there's enough e-sports fans to justify that kind of purchase.

Paten Fatal1ty 1010/2020. My 2 favorite office mice. I wish that shape would be rebooted.

That would be awesome. I always liked the shape of the mouse, too bad the sensors on both models were meh.

I can concur. I had both EC2-a and FK2 replaced with Omron switches, and the lightest samples i had out of the omron switches (50g actuation) the buttons still felt stiff, tried using some ultra thin pads to reduce the space between plastic and switch, no dice. its just a crappy mouse frown.gif

The EC2-a however, was a day and night difference! One of my attempts the right button was often clicked accidentally tongue.gif Balanced them out now. they feel like my old G303. super light.

Why not?

Just don't see a point in a reply to a comment that was just random talk, in a dead thread. There is another active 3360 thread so why revive one from January?
