But it will be as good as possible, without any ghosting/overshoot whatsoever.

This. A strobed LCD under ideal conditions (e.g. constant 120 FPS on the FG2421 with Turbo240 @ 120 Hz enabled) will still produce better motion clarity.

@CEEEJAAAY: Where has it been updated?
^ I posted a link but it was cut off in your quote. This site is very reliable

I know the FG2421 LOOKS WAYY better under 240hz, but the massive amount of input lag that 240hz function creates kinda makes playing FPS MP games more difficult to play, right? tongue.gif

So I would still hope the DELL doesn't introduce any awkward features that would create more lag, but their record indicates they have the least amount of lag utilizing the same panels vs . other manufacturers, so not worried. smile.gif

I think once this screen rolls around, they will make different versions slightly tuned for different crowds. The one mentioned seems to be an all in one crowd pleaser though

All of these "updates" are old news. I wouldn't be surprised if the monitor was canned.

I hope they release it. Even if I don't plan to buy one at that price. But if they do, means someone has a manufacture process in place. So if they already invested the momey, it usually proves more expensive to change everything, than to lower the prices for longer return investment.

Also, it may put the Sony& Co. into a competing stand. Maybe this way they will stop the milking process of the old LCDs.

This monitor will have features that create input lag I wager, since it's a professional monitor opposed to a gaming one. You're right about Turbo240 though, although other strobing techniques don't add so much input lag like ULMB and BenQ from what I've read.

I'll need mortgage for that.

I wanted to ask you, is the ppi good enough on your 55" 4k oled?
I checked and it looks to be below the ppi of a 27" 1080p monitor.

Sorry if I hijack.

It depends on the person a lot of the times. I can see a clear difference between 27'' 1080p and 27'' with higher resolution. Also, the image looks a bit "cumbersone'. I don't think I could use 27'' 1080 without heavy AA settings. I can barely notice between a 22-24'' 1080p and 22-24'' on higher resolution.

In the store I could see a difference between 1080p and 4k only when I was close (below 4m a.k.a 12 feet). On the 4k one, I didn't have any image clarity issues on the 0.7 - 1.5 m (2-4 feet), which is probably the ideal spot for immersion.

You could notice it only when you go below 0.5 m (1-2 feet), but honestly, I am not sure if anyone considers doing that.

7K $ for a 1080p OLED
26k $ for a 4k OLED

I am sure gamers around the world are trilled. Still, it's good that they have something. For the consumers they still have the old production scheme in place - as far as I know. Maybe with LG bashing up, they will feel the hype.
