[Techradar.Pro] Hands on: Dell UP3017Q OLED 4K monitor review - Page 99

Makes zero sense for them NOT to put a DP1.4 piece in there, the market for this type of monitor is extremely small, why rush it out with out a proper way to connect to it? I can only imagine at the point USB-C adapters or GPU's come out this thing will be outdated

any thoughts?

ok guys, this monitor is still vaporware. I just chatted with DELL support and they said "this monitor is not for sale yet" "we have no internal information on when it will be released either"

if the dp on the mobo is 1.4 otherwise is useless.in the manual is written "DisplayPort feature is currently limited. Visit GIGABYTE website for future updates"

epic fail,it's a dp 1.2 4k 60hz

minute 3.10

DP1.4 and TB3 are still really new, I wouldn't be surprised if the tech to implement DP1.4 into TB3 just isn't there yet.

Yea I understand that.....but I gotta Dell 5K sitting here on my desk which uses caveman dual DPs to achieve 5k 60hz.....so it behooves me to think they could have at least done that to make 4K 120hz more accessible to the consumer base

The upcoming 4K 120Hz monitors will more than likely just use regular DP1.4 ports, so that won't be a problem.

This one is just a bit of an oddball requiring thunderbolt 3.
