I will mention she looks absolutely horrid without her hair. She looks like a doll with her good ol' fancy hair thumb.gif

So, I decided to drop down to 1080p and just max out the game with no AA and I am getting a solid 75fps, with random drops (that hair tho). Very enjoyable. I will probably finish the game @ 1080p just to enjoy everything in its full beauty and then I will drop some settings, and run the game at 1440p on my 2nd play through and on. Some better optimization and driver support on both sides of the camp would probably give us better frames with higher settings at 1440p.

I never understood why people pick settings over native resolution. Running 1440p is 1 million times better then running the game on Very high. In Witcher 3 for example the game looks Infinitely better 4K Medium then 1440p Ultra on a 4K screen. Play the game 1440p and set it to high. There is literally no difference in IQ. The difference you most likely see is HBAO+.

I've noticed this coming from 1080p. 1080p always looked bad to me, even before thinking of switching to 1440p. I thought it was just my monitor, but every 1080p monitor I've ever used had really bad "jaggies" even with AA maxed. It takes a bit more horsepower for 1440p even on high, but it's worth it over lower resolutions.

No no, I am not using the 1440p and downscaling. I am playing 1080p on a ASUS MX279H - @ 75Hz Overclocked (dual monitors). The pixel density isn't so bad..

Yes the HBAO+ is the big difference I think...

I noticed this too. Heck, even my 2560 x 1080 screen looks just as good as 1440p.

That makes sense. I would run 1080p all the time unless you get super high fps and use 1440p instead of AA.

I got a "used refurbished" topsync 1440p monitor about 2 years ago for $125 on eBay. It was kind of a big gamble, but surprisingly the monitor came in mint condition and had been running great since. WoW looks great on it. As any MMO would.

I think Geothermal Valley has a lot worse performance hit than Soviet Installation.

Maybe ONE of the best, but WoW:Legion hasn't dropped yet, and that is a PC exclusive...and is expected to bring back a huge player base because of the current lore in the game. They say it's the second highest reserved WoW since Lich...

Yes.. I did say ONE... but really you're going to bring WoW into this? It's an expansion to an outdated, overrated game.. It has no place in the discussion of best games released this year.

Let me translate that quote into human English:
