I have two 4P AMD, one is socket F 4 x 6core 8425HE, and one is a G34 4 x 12core 6172.
One 2P AMD G34 with two Opteron 6172
Also have 3 dual socket 1366, one with 2 x5650 and two with E5620
Also 4 single socket 1366 x5660 systems oc to 4ghz
Two single AMD 1045T hexcore on 990x UD3 boards

Just ordered a dual 2011 board and two e5-2670
And one large electric bill

GPUs two R9-280X
Two GTX970
One GTX960
few GTX660Ti

If anyone wants some run times I could do some in a day or two after the primegrid challenge.
Some people collect dolls, stamps or coins.
I collect computers!!!
I heat my house in the Winter with computers running BOINC, hardly use any fuel oil at all.

Nice rigs! I haven't used the heater this winter either biggrin.gif I can't run everything because people in my house get hot. I have been collecting a lot of gear and I hope to have everything up and running by May. When it is all done, I should have:

4 x 2P X5670 rigs
3 x 2P E5-2670 rigs
1 x 4P E5-4650 rig

I would like to see some run time comparisons because those AMD boards/processors on hard OCP are a great deal.

I got the board ( H8DGU-F) and chips AMD G34 6378 installed and working. I have 16 x 1gig of DDR3 1333 memory in it and a 120 gig SSD. I installed Ubuntu server headless and put BOINC on it. I SSH into the box using putty from my windows PC and I setup and got Boinctasks running to manage BOINC. BoincTasks is very finicky to get working. I had the IP address of my windows PC in the remote_hosts.cfg and the password I use in the gui_rpc_auth.cfg and it would not connect. I tried using the manual connection and the machine search. I finally got it to work by using the discovery and then deleting the MAC address from the computers listing screen.

I am not exactly sure how I am going to mount this PC, but if I want to put a video card in it, I will need a riser card. These are probably best for CPU crunchers only.

You can use a 80mm fan on the CPU heatsinks, make sure the air is blowing down through the HS.
I recommend a 40mm fan on the big chipset heatsink, it get very hot.

Also please post BOINC project and finish times using those 63xx CPUs.
I am so tempted to spring for a couple.

Without a fan on the heatsink, the high temp alarm would go off with no load on the machine. biggrin.gif

I need some of those modded Cooler Master Hyper 212 cpu coolers, but the CPU's are running at 55c at full load and that is probably OK.
I have some 80 mm fans somewhere, I just have to find them. I think I have some old video card fans laying around and that would probably be just about right for the chipset heatsink.

I will post some of the boinctasks history at some point. Lots of good info there.

Well I'm in the process of building a E5-4650 rig and two more AMD quad rigs atm.

For the Intel I'm looking at:

Chips: 4*E5-4650 (C1) - bought, $750 total

Board: SM X9QRi-F+ - sourcing, looking at $700

Ram: 16*8GB 1600Mhz ECC - $460 (still looking for cheap ECC1866 dimms)

Cooler: Noctua NH-U12DX i4 - $70*4

PSU: SeaSonic 1200w XP* - $230

@magic8192 Those are non-ECC rams in your 4650 rig? I was under the impression that it'd only work with ECC dimms? If that's not the case, then

Is that going to be for folding only? Going to be a monster biggrin.gif

BTW the evga 1300 watt is a pretty good price right now if you want to save about $70 on the psu. http://goo.gl/Ow4JPR

Rendering rigs.

I'm going with the Seasonic specifally because the outputs allow me to connect as many 8pin eps connectors as I want directly to the psu. Think the Antec HCP 1300w will also allow me to do the same.
