Motorola's future?

So if I go with motorola specifically the moto x pure edition, what changes things for me if I own this phone and after motorola changes to lenovo? Will updates & upgrades be still released frequently?

What are your thoughts?

Just because the brand changes, I doubt anything major would change to the existing User.

For example when Nokia Lumia changed to Microsoft Lumia, the impact wasn't felt on the user end, updates were still released that year, and even a major OS overhaul was completed that year and released to even the lower end models.

Any warranty claims would still have to be fulfilled, and most likely any service center would go as far as keep any existent employees, this sorta change is for the future, not for the present/past

Motorola's track record is impeccable when it comes to software updates, in fact I believe it's only second to the Nexus devices. If you want to play it safe, the nexus 6 is available for $250 and trades blows with the Moto X. As for updates, It will have the latest from Google for at least another year (possibly two) and is completely bone stock. I jumped on the deal about a month ago and I'm not looking back. My friends with Galaxy's give me envious looks from time to time biggrin.gif

Edit: also, as far as the lackluster battery life goes, it is SIGNIFICANTLY improved with the Marshmallow update. Doze is truly amazing.

Yea I was looking at the nexus 6 vs motoxpure after you stated about the nexus 6. Well, the only thing holding me from the nexas 6 is that there is no expansion slot "sd card slot".

Expansion is necessary.

Yeah, different strokes for different folks. I personally stream everything I need and 32gb is enough for everything else FOR ME. If you do decide to go for it, it's an excellent phone, and the 64gb model is still $100 less than the Moto X pure.

True.

One of the main reasons is to recover from a bad flash using a sd card with the recovery rom on it.

Have no idea why corps. are removing it, but I read that samsung s7 will have an expansion slot. But I will never use samsung devices again. KNOX is horrible for rooting.

Oh i see. Well, when ever i really mess up, the only thing that gets me out of a pinch is ADB sideload which doesn't require an SD. Not to mention i don't think I'll ever flash this phone because stock marshmallow is that good.

Yea I cannot wait to fiddle with MM, I ordered the moto x pure 32gb version from amazon. What upset me was that on amazon the phone was on sale yesterday for $429.99. I just dropped monies at regular price as sale wasn't up :/ . Yes, adb is great but if it is a bad brick, sometimes from what I read the adb won't work = sd card for recovery smile.gif .

Pretty cool, cannot wait.

Future of moto doesn't look promising at all.

Turning into a little chineese company to build up demand in china or something.

Now that the president stepped down what ya guys think now?
