What about this:
I put used a standing fan (that you would use to keep cool in summer..) and put it beside my PC.
It actually helped.
Now, I lost my side panel which I can't replace , so, buying case fans aren't really an option.
I wish I had the picture - but I saw a cooling device on a desktop that had no case - it was about a foot long and it had multiple fans. It was like a compact but very powerful fan-based cooler...
Sorry being vague , but something like that would be great.
Alternatively, Can you suggest a portable fan I can keep beside my computer ?
"Sorry being vague , "
A picture is worth a thousand words.
Computer fans not mounted to case or component are 'portable fans' I often use them on desk or bench to circulate air. Also use them in bedroom (because they are quiet) and in our camper. All kinds of ways to make support frames to hold them. Clothes hanger wire, dowels the size of mounting holes, insulated single stand copper wire with insulation that is same size as mounting holes works perfect. Sorry, don't know off hand what size that would be. 12 gauge wire is 3.0mm without insulation. Fan mount holes are about 4.8mm
