Just because they are fair weather fans doesn't mean their money is no good.
I think a decisive 1080ti(whatever) killer will pull people from the 970 camp and put them in the 390 camp.
Next gen it looks like AMD is going more and better and more while Nvidia is going more, better, and multipurpose again. I'm guessing AMD to Nvidia power will be like the PS4 to Xbone. These refinements Nvidia is doing are going to look like cheap parlor tricks when AMD's DX12 leaning drivers get updated and gcn overwhelms them with sheer power. I hope AMD makes their silicon to run efficiently at low clocks to stay in a power envelope like nano and then lets their partners put it on custom pcb.

My gpus are getting old. Isn't Andromeda coming out at the end of the year? Lot of time to wait.

My GPUs are getting old too.You are right about the high end card act to enhance the brand. I think a major thing that most people or AMD has not really looked into is Youtube. Almost I mean all Tech Youtubers run Nvidia or SLI exclusively. That plays a big factor to a lot of people. If I own AMD cards and Influence 1 million people even if I say Nvidia is as good as AMD most people will look that I have AMD and buy AMD.

I'm still using a 7950, waiting for a suitable replacement. The first company to market is the first company that gets my money.

What AMD is way better driver support. I simply refuse to buy any AMD cards until they refocus their resources for better drivers.

I get the idea they are trying to push for more open source etc..but when you ask the community to basically fix/write your software for you then you need to start re-evaluating your company as whole.
While it might be bad for AMD to go chapter 11 but they only have themselves to blame for this mess.

On that note, I have already sold one of my 980 in preparations for the price slash.

throw it on ebay now and you can prob still recoup quite a bit of money, just use a cheap gpu for awhile.

Get ahead of the dump, because it is coming.

So, basically this translates to terrible drivers.

I highly recommend this. You might get a dummy like me who was 2 seconds away from putting a bid on a EVGA SC. Luckily, I thought about how much I'd hate myself when pascal is released. It ended up selling for $833 which is a great amount to recoup, try to get as much as you can back.
