Love you bro. Seriously, dude. You're awesome.

I am still avoiding Windows 10 as though it's going to put me through an extremely painful death, but I know a day will come when I will be forced to upgrade to this joke of an operating system, and thanks to you, this part of it will be relatively painless.

Thank you so much for those kind words. This thread has been my baby for a while and I hope it helps everyone in the future as well. Just remember, you are not forced to downgrade to Windows 10 if you do not want to.

I've tried downloading the July ISO multiple times but it always fails around 45-47% and gives this message:

I tried saving to both internal and external drives but it doesn't make a difference. I don't know if it's a browser issue (Firefox) or something with Mega's site, but if anyone knows how I can get around this I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

I will have a look at it over the next couple of days. In the meantime have you tried with Chrome?

Thank you it has been a pleasure. No auto updates. I don't believe it's safe yet.

I have read the article and spoken to a few people. At this stage we will see if we can unpack the rollup package and extract the individual updates. If not I will create an ISO up to October when the time comes.

I used Chrome earlier today and the download completed successfully. I'm not sure what the issue was before, but I'm glad it worked either way.

Thanks!

(it's funny timing - I just came here to post an update and saw you also just posted a couple minutes ago.)

Glad the download worked. Please do not forget to manually install KB3177725 as well. Otherwise the long waits will persist.

THANK YOU SIR!

btw how do you build your iso's with ntlite or something?

Cause i do and i tried to handle about the updates that i included were more than +600 !

The fault was maybe the extra updates menu in the WHDownloader !

Or is an Windows Ultimate x64 image ~4,7 gb too much for these tools ?

But after the creation of the iso which which was about 4hrs ,wont let me install the iso via the winsetupfromusb tool...spent so much hrs on clicking the updates that should be installed !

Hell yeah i'm frustated atm. headscratch.gif

If you were wanting to create your own ISO, it is possible if you have some time to spare. All you have to do is:

1. Download the ISO from HERE. Remember you will need your licence key.
2. Download the updates I use.
3. You can find the individual updates in my ISO HERE.
4. Download NTLite, found HERE.
5. Download VMWare Workstation Player from HERE.
6. Load ISO image into NTLite and slipstream / Security Updates.
7. Export and create ISO using NTLite.
8. Load new ISO image into NTLite and slipstream / Internet Explorer 8 Updates.
9. Export and create ISO using NTLite.
10. Load new ISO image into NTLite and slipstream / ActiveX Update.
11. Export and create ISO using NTLite.
12. Load new ISO image into NTLite and slipstream / Kernel & User Mode Driver Updates.
13. Export and create ISO using NTLite.
14. Load new ISO image into NTLite and slipstream / .NET Framework 3.5.1 Updates.
15. Export and create ISO using NTLite.
16. Test ISO image in VMware Workstation Player.
17. Download the Windows USB/DVD Download Tool found HERE.
18. Load ISO into the USB Tool. The tool will format the USB and copy the files over.
19. Install ISO into VM Player.
20. Manually download KB3177725 and install.
21. Search for updates. This should be a lot quicker.

Make sure you slipstream the updates in groups. If you try to slipstream all the updates in one hit, the ISO may work but not work properly. If you do them in the groups then you should not have any issues. It does take more time doing it this way but I have no issues with any of the ISO's I create.

Hello @Team Grinder,

Since I will be imaging Windows 8.1 soon and I wanted to try your way, how do you compile the list of updates?
To elaborate, I have WSUS up and running so I can compile a list of approved updates, however the files are not stored with human-readable filenames.

Thanks in advance! cheers.gif

I researched each update and manually downloaded the individual update and sorted them into folders and then tested which order I should slip stream them into the ISO.
