Alright, so last year I gave away a Phanteks cooler for my 3rd year of sobriety. For my 4th year of sobriety, I'm upping the stakes a bit and giving away my EVGA GTX 960 SSC GPU. It's barely been used and is in perfect condition.
Requirements
Must be a member for at least a year from the date of this post (1/13/2015).
Must have at least 25 rep.
Must be within the US 48. (Unless you want to pay for shipping)
This is not a requirement, but I would like to know how you plan on using this GPU. And if you have pics of the build, I would love to see them--I am a geek after all and my builds have been inspired by a lot of the builds that I have seen here.
Please, only one post per person and only if you meet the requirements! Congratulations are definitely appreciated from all, but if you don't meet the requirements, then don't post, just message me. I want to keep this as fair as possible when I choose the winner using random.org. Speaking of which, the winner will be chosen on the date of my celebration which is 2/13/2016. Good luck!
My best friend who is financially constricted, moved multiple times due to family issues, and is trying to stay afloat would greatly benefit from this. I am currently looking to find a good deal on a i5/mobo combo and the video card would be the last piece of the puzzle. My friend and I thank you for this opportunity.
Well
If won..by random drawing
I'd use this for an external gpu setup on my laptop.
Just bought an adaptor for it..
W230st. I don't use the wireless card so I have spare room for the right connection..
It definitely would make the 765m small and puny but really would like to get some real games played with out having to do tons of lowest settings possible and nvidia inspector tweaks to downgrade the graphics...
Specially on some of the newer titles..
It is what it is you deal with what you have and patience makes for all the better
Congrats on 4 years of fighting the daily battle. I've had a family member succumb to addiction and was not able to get out of the hole.
I'd put this in the Living room HTPC. My office area has been turned into temporary storage while we await the arrival of our first child, and my main rig, which was in the middle of a rebuild, has been buried in the clutter
In, for a friend looking to upgrade from an old Dell with a 5770. I already got him an Athlon II x4, 8gigs of ram and a decent PSU but I've been struggling to find something worth it over his 5770 and haven't been able to find anything within his budget of, well not a lot. This would be amazing for him, thanks for the chance and congratulations on the sobriety, keep it up.
well I have newer components I have yet to assemble, wasn't able to afford a new GPU though.
So how I plan to use this: im not sure if this will be a proper replacement for my GTX 570, however I have my Wifes'/Son's PC which will be using a GTX 275.
Id still test it, since newer product even with a low 128-bit interface, should out perform my 570 in nearly every way. Though, I do play many games that are 3d06 era, and i think the 570 would excel in those situations.
but hey, never know I might ACTUALLY buy a new game someday lol
My girlfriend's sister goes to college with me and really wants to get into gaming, but can't afford a rig due to loans, opportunity, etc. I'd dig out my spare Phenom rig and some other hardware and toss it all together for her.
Edit: It'd also give me the opportunity to do a giveaway for this 570 classy I have on hand that I can't power.
I'm in! Thanks, I currently have a HD 5830 and it's not performing well with new games lol. This would be a great upgrade so I can try new games at higher settings!
First off congratulations! And also thanks for the sweet contest.
If I were to win I'd be using the card for one of younger brother's pc. Whenever I have spare parts I like to help out my younger brothers who currently have no means of buying parts. I just recently got him an old sandy i5 and a 650, but his pc is struggling to keep up with the games he'd like to play as most of his friends have some pretty crazy setups. The rest of his pc is a spare WD TB drive, some MSI G43 mobo, my very first no-name pc case from 11 years ago, and some decent peripherals we got him for Christmas last year. Thanks again for the opportunity and good luck everyone!
Congrats!
I would love the opportunity to try out my very first SLI setup, seeing as I have that exact card already, I would slap that bad boy in and watch em scream.
I'm actually building a new rig for my friend right now. It's current state is my old x58 build and a 560ti from his brother. The 960 will be a direct swap for that 560ti and I'll use the 560ti for a media/nas server. This is a sick giveaway. Good luck to everyone!
Being on a fixed income, upgrades to my rig are fee and far between. Winning this would be a major upgrade from my current GTX 650.
Thank for the chance!
Congratulations! I'm all in for this! I have a very close friend who is a heavy console gamer and I'm slowly putting together a PC for him. He's been a big help throughout our friendship and this would help me better able to get him started in the right direction.
In! Thank you so much for doing this! If I were to win, this would go towards building one of my family members a rig of their own since I just recently finished building a desk for them as they have to now work at home. They have a work laptop, but they don't have their own computer to go with their setup. This would allow me to have a use for the myriad of computer parts that I have laying around and doing nothing (good parts too >.<!)
Thanks a ton for the opportunity! I'll take a stab at it...I'd be putting this in my girlfriends PC...she's the only one in the house without a semi capable card...I have the 290x, her son has a GTX 570, and she is still stuck on an 8600 GT. I am in Canada, but would pay shipping. No picture of the rig it would be going in, as it's in pieces, but I am in the middle of a miniaturized CM 690 done in her favourite colour purple.
Congratulations on your fourth year of upcoming sobriety.
Personally if I were to receive the GPU it would be going to a friend of mine seeing as he had received a GPU that's going out on him.
