Great mouse, as long as you don't need to use any of the mouse buttons simultaneously, ie: M1 & M2 to rocketjump in quake, as there is a delay implemented into the design. A more technical explanation can be found in esr
That's actually a good question. I really couldn't imagine their being that many Auroras produced in the first place (compared to "larger" brands, even one like Zowie) much less if they're still in "production" now.
Ive really wanted to buy one as well but the button delay makes me so concerned, since I use m1+m2 to rocket-jump. I also think the delay would affect a number of things, like quick-scoping for example.
Im not sure how much help I can be. I was one of the first in on this mouse when he opened up preorders. I ended up getting an FK2 because the preorder took so long and I had already decided I liked that so the Aurora never really got used.
I use mine at work now and for that its fine....not the most rigorous environment for a mouse though. It always worked though.
So I guess the moral of the story is yeah its probably ok to buy....depending on what your doing with it.
I reckon there's still some units left since it's such a niche mouse with barely any marketing and that bst must've ordered atleast 1000. I doubt there were even 500 ready buyers.
The mouse is the epitome of YMMV.
At the price of $22.50 USD on Amazon, I think that's a pretty good deal if you get lucky.
As for me, I made the mistake of buying the mouse through Massdrop
I'm still using mine, mainly because I simply can't find anything better/more suitable for me. I had to open it up to fix my M2 button but after a bit of plastic bending its a lot better.
Personally, coming from a WMO, this is the best compromise of shape, performance, weight, reliability and cost I've come across. Mine was from Amazon during the initial release.
Contra
-overall built quality (sharp edges, cheap plastic, coating wears off - on mouse1 within weeks)
-stiff calbe
-software of death (breaks the mouse in no time)
-high lift off (even with double stacked feets, needs lift off fixes)
-mousewheel issues (notches are not well defined on almost all units. mouse3 not easy to click)
-debouncing issues with m1/m2 on all units

Bought mine of Amazon and got it today; haven't had any issues so far. The shape is amazing, it's very similar to the g100 but with better shaped mouse buttons. The flatness of the buttons makes it easier to grip and aim.
As for the rocket jump issue I can't really say since I dont play Quake. I can confirm quickshots work in CS 1.6 (pressing M1+M2 simultaneously on snipers).
the click latency is normal/low like logitech
just there's a bug that buttons aren't debounced independently, and if you try to do m1+m2, unless you do it simultaneously within 1ms, the button pressed second will be delayed 50ms as a result.

lol meanwhile finalmouse is the "professional's gaming mouse"
personally, i'd gladly buy 3 auroras rather than 1 finalmouse
but anyway... http://www.overclock.net/t/1595500/zalman-zm-m600r-pics/
aka nmouse 4k
this is better than aurora in pretty much every way. shape is bit different though (shorter, less peaked at top) and it doens't have side buttons
I have nmouse4k. Recently I was watching the aurora and I am worried about the qc problem.
Aurora is better than 4k?
