I think in the simplest form, during POST, the system goes through the PCIe slots until it finds the first GPU and decides to use that. It will then look for other PCIe devices and leave them idle. During POST it's main objective is to get everything ready for either entering the BIOS or proceeding to the UEFI bootloader.

OK, I already know most of the things you said (and thanks for the "consolation" biggrin.gif) but I was wondering could it be any of the UEFI/Legacy options? Or could clearing CMOS make any difference?

Do you mean that there are other uses for it (that I don't know of) besides a few PhysX games?

"I'm just curious how you justify having a dedicated physx card at all times."
What is the worst part of this according to you - the fact that I don't sell it, or mainly heat output in general?

I indeed meant applications as the few games that support it.

Both really. The seldom used 670 that you have as physx is just dropping in value every day. It would be more worth to your PC to sell it and get something else, like an ssd if you don't have one.

You could probably still get a 100 bucks for the 670. I would sell or donate it.
