Novice Nimble 7# - Oh baby, a triple!

Thread Starter

Currently we are ranked 1st overall with 250 points. The next position down has 200 points so they need 50 points to catch us.

To participate you must be in the Novice league on HWBot - it means you've been benching for between 3 months to a year on HWBot - and on the Overclock.net team.

It ends on the 05/03/16 (18 days remaining!) and remember team competitions now get you OC-Esport points that contribute to your league position!

There are five stages that you can help out in - there are 3x 2D and 2x 3D benches and they are:
  1. XTU (Intel)
  2. HWBot Prime (AMD)
  3. 3DMark11 Physics
  4. 3DMark13 Sky Diver (Nvidia)
  5. Catzilla 720p (AMD)

The score for the team is the statistical mean of the three best scores with each score from a different user.

Thanks to @WhiteWulfe - Basically, a lower average with three full team members will automatically gain a higher placing than a team that only fields one or two entries due to how the competition works, and this is why it is rather critical to aim for three valid submissions in a category first, and then worry about improving the submissions later.

Stage 1: XTU (Intel)
  • There needs to be three submissions each with a different CPUs.
  • You need a screenshot of your score with CPU-Z CPU AND RAM TABS.
  • You need a picture of your rig.

Currently we are ranked 1st with an average of 2104.33 and submissions from:

Stage 2: HWBot Prime (AMD)
  • There needs to be three submissions each with a different CPUs.
  • You need a screenshot of your score with CPU-Z CPU AND RAM TABS .
  • You need a picture of your rig.

Currently we are ranked 1st with an average of 6719.48 and submissions from:

Stage 3: 3DMark11 Physics
  • There needs to be three submissions each with a different number of cores.
  • You need a screenshot of your score with CPU-Z CPU AND RAM TABS .
  • You need a picture of your rig.

Currently we are ranked 1st with an average of 17587 and submissions from:

Stage 4: 3DMark13 Sky Diver (Nvidia)
  • There needs to be three submissions each from 3 different Nvidia GPUs.
  • You need a screenshot of your score with CPU-Z CPU AND RAM TABS + GPU-Z.
  • You need a picture of your rig.
  • You may only use 1 GPU.

Currently we are ranked 1st with an average of 40071.33 and submissions from:

Stage 5: Catzilla 720p
  • There needs to be three submissions each from 3 different AMD GPUs.
  • You need a screenshot of your score with CPU-Z CPU AND RAM TABS + GPU-Z.
  • You need a picture of your rig.
  • You may only use 1 GPU.

Currently we are ranked 1st with an average of 26015 and submissions from:

Allright you eager people, here is the thread for you. tongue.gif

We're going for a 3rd win and with the changes this year we might just be able to continue our winning streak. The main change this year is that the architecture/generation requirement has been mostly removed, we just need 3 different models of CPU/GPU. I have some tweaks/pointers for some of these benchmarks, so if you need them just PM me and I'll try and get back to you.

Maybe i submit some scores on my FX-60... I just rebuilt it...
Also. I love the thread name biggrin.gif

EDIT: Wait. So we can use multiple CPUs from the same architecture this year? Like a 4690K and a 4790K? Also, does that also apply for the cores( like using 2 different 4 core CPUs)?
My i7-4790K @ 4.55 Ghz is going to be ready for XTU tomorrow thumb.gif !

Indeed we can, I think they're trying to make it more OC based rather than just getting all 3 submissions in to win (as this favours the bigger teams).

Ah man, what I'd give to be a novice... Why weren't the ones when I was one this fun looking!!

...But I'm also a crazed bugger that enjoys running Catzilla over and over and over again...

Your subs would definitely be welcomed if you were, Whitewulfe, and Catzilla is one of the best.

Sadly, the only real gear I have that's AMD for video cards at the moment are my HD 6850's.... That I really need to get blocks for and then have a bit of fun with a soldering iron... Sure they're reference, but I wouldn't doubt it if they had a bit more life in them if I could keep the VRMs cool ^_^

Well, i was going to do Cinebench and 3DMark on my 4790K @ 4.6Ghz and my GTX 970. But just saw that Hilderman just did them running @ 5Ghz so i guess i won't even try... rolleyes.gif

But i could do the HWBOT Prime this weekend, and also try my new GT 630, that maybe a decent submission for 3DMark paired with my i3-2130... And finally i could run my HD 6950 thru Catzilla, but it's running on my Q9300 @ 3Ghz and that may limit the score... thumb.gif

Also, when i get a new harddrive (the one that i'm using just blew itself up and messed up the whole Win XP installation) I might try to get something out of my Socket 939 FX-60 and 8800GTX build even tho they are so old that i doubt they will do even a decent score...
