If you can score within the top 10 of your hardware class, you gain points as well as being on the top 100 worldwide.

Talking about junkyard hardware, I am eyeing some 1366 Xeons for a while now. Just can't find decent boards that support 2 of them and is actually overclocking oriented. Should be fun if I can find them here. biggrin.gif

I actually scored 1st on some of my hardware (mostly rare-ish GPUs that since nobody had, noone had even submitted benchmarks with them on HWBot), but still the lack of decent hardware is whatis holding me back a bit, but I don't care since OCing modern/decent hardware is still as fun as watching how a budget AMD board is running 300+ FSB on air biggrin.gif

Also, 1366 seems actually pretty fun, and you can get a pretty decent system with a Xeon too, I looked a couple of months ago for a 1366 Motherboard since i could find i7-920s for 30€ and less (and Xeons too) and that would be a nice upgrade to my 775, but oh man, the WORSE (entry-level) P67 boards (or whatever was the overclocking chipset that isn't X58) were 200€+...

I've noticed so far one of the better places to pick up such gear has been HWBot's forums as there have been a lot of guys selling older gear for rather cheap - REX's going for as cheap as $125 USD, and quite a bit of am2 and am3 gear too.

I picked up some old 1366 Xeons myself, from what I understand the best real dual-socket board for overclocking is the EVGA SR-2. They seem very difficult to track down though.

Yeah, old platform to be interested in right now. But if you can find them mint, makes a good system.

Looks like I can find myself some unlocked E5-1650s too. And some 2620s--locked though, relatively cheap.

Yes they are. Most people who own them have no intentions letting them go. A dual 6C/12T system is still something.

BTW, how's your FURY? FURY X too right? If you are just interested.

Yep, Fury X and Fury. Fury's doing well, I'm getting some advice on stepping up it's OC a bit more. That thread looks very interesting indeed, thanks mate :thumbsups

Oh, and upped the score a bit more in HWBOT but hardly done - I'm right at the 7k edge, gonna cross it soon.

Catz need RAMDISK for some extra points for access time. Since you have 32GB Memory, it's worth a shot.

Also try to set your RAM to 1T Command rate. thumb.gif

Cross that 7K! Please. biggrin.gif

And ues, go represent the REDS. thumb.gif

Yes sir. thumb.gif

By the way, I'm looking at the current standing, and my previous spying, too early to tell but this is going our way.

AMD HWBOT Prime is going for us due to the team going for very high scores on each sub.

AMD Catzilla too, thanks to having the FURY and the FURY X in the line-up.

I can still improve on the nVidia Sky Diver. In the pipes.

If the other Team fights back on 3DMark 11 Physics, they really can. I saw their captain posted an awesome score on the bot for 3DM 11. He can always use that.

If I can still make a re-run of my 1950 XTU, we can squeeze that stage again. But with a very small margin. I would only try it when needed and at thr very last hour. tongue.gif

We can hide our scores till then. But be sure to keep on pushing guys. biggrin.gif
