I would recommend different ram. The older die Samsung memory does not work well on x99. Go with Kingston HyperX Predator, Savage, or newer 3200c14 Gskill ram. Or a set with Hynix memory. You may end up paying more or losing some of those enticing specs, but will not have the tweaking issues trying to get ram working properly. I have the Gskill 3200c16 and Geil 3400c16 Samsung based memory that does run well on x99.

Scythe ninja 4 is comparable in performance and cheaper and has fewer pcie blocking tendencies - might consider that

Stay away from the Geil. The Kingston are good to go. The best set atm for x99 seems to be the new Gskill 3200c14 kit and 3600c16 kit.
I currently have 2666c13 1.35v and 2666c15 1.2v kits from kingston which may be cheaper and just as good a bin if not better than 3000c15, if you intend on oc'ing your ram.

I just found out if I want to use the cooler I have I need to get low profile ram, so I might need to go with the Corsair Vengence ram,
Is this a good kit? http://pcpartpicker.com/mr/newegg/corsair-memory-cmk16gx4m4b3000c15
Its fairly cheap but I want to know how well it will perform. Or I can get the Gskill ram but then I will need a different cooler.

Edit: I actually think I should be fine with any set of ram by moving the fans on the cooler up.
So I just need to find a kit I like.
What about this kit

Can't comment on the Corsair kit as i havent owned any corsair ram. As i said have the 3200c16 and does not run well on x99. If price is issue go with Kingston.

So these are the 4 kits I am choosing from
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Productcompare.aspx?CompareItemList=-1%7C20-104-610%5E20-104-610%2C20-104-623%5E20-104-623%2C20-104-538%5E20-104-538%2C20-232-217%5E20-232-217

Probably will go with the Gskill one for a good cas and good speed at the same time.

Again the 5820K cant use RAM at speeds that high so its a waste of money.
Grab the 2666 MHz Kingston Fury kit instead its cheaper and that one will work.

Wait what? Why can't the 5820k use high speed ram?
