Acer XB321HK 4k 32" G-Sync Monitor - Page 14

It definitely does not have Displayport 1.3. It is most likely 1.2.
To make it worse the HDMI it has is almost useless because it only works for 4k up to 30Hz (not sure which Version Number that is). I think they just gave it the same connectors the other XB1 Monitors, maybe for cheaper production or it is a requirement of the G-Sync V2 module.

This monitor was (and is) ahead of its time, especially when it came out and I’m loving it but for 1100€ it is not very future proof.
Where are the 4k Monitors that support the new display port standards and HDR and stuff? With the new graphics cards available they could at least announce something…

When the screen was made, or even released, it was state of the art.
There was no DP1.3. You can't make what doesn't exist.
I can't say if upping DP1.2 to DP1.3 is a firmware only thing or if hardware actually changed, though I'm inclined to believe the latter.

The most future proof you can get is 4K and that's already pretty nifty in my book. HDR is nice I'm sure, but I can live perfectly well without it and not miss it for a single day (I don't even have a idea of how much better it can be so I can't miss what I don't know about).

Thanks for confirming however dp 1.3 has been around for a while and surely much before from when the monitor was released some time last year. It probably was a cost cutting measure, crippling an otherwise very future proof monitor, I'm looking at this computex with quite some hope.

My rig just needs a 1080 and I can hopefully play some games in 4k. All other older components should hold fine.

I believe DP1.3 was perhaps a completed standard at the time but with no actual working or implemented hardware available. I'd have to look into that to confirm it though.

Any vanilla and dusty old 980Ti with a proper OC to 1500ish MHz will do fine on 4K, most games even maxed out and you'll hit 60fps or just shy. At least I do.

Dp 1.3 was finalized in September 2014, 1 year later some hardware was probably out. My cards are long in need of upgrade (GTX 580 SLI), however with my current monitor @ 1920x 1200, I don't need an immediate upgrade, I'm going to wait for Hybrid 1080's to come out before getting a monitor and the card.

AMD and nVidia are only now releasing cards that are DP1.3 compatible.
My 980Ti, no DP1.3, AMD same thing.

Having a completed standard and having it integrated into hardware are two different things altogether.

I just gote my Acer Predator XB321HK, and its the same as the Acer B326HK, just with the gsync module and the red mount, the colors seems a little more vivid, but i havent tampered much with the settings. No dead pixels and a little less light bleed, overall i like the monitor, my only complain is the price, i think its should be much closer to $1k.

does this have the same panel as the benq BL3201PH ? Looking to get this monitor for both gaming and photo editing. Noticed some reviews talk about 100% srgb coverage which is what im looking for.

I couldn't say if it's the same panel, but I too read several times about the color quality of this screen.
I also think it's top notch and hands down the best I've seen in quite some time.
