I have had a lot of monitors in my life (yes its a long life), last 2 were Samsung T260 which I had for almost 6 years? And now just got an Asus 27" MX279H.
All of them were perfect on first go. Never had to even think about returning one.

that is great! did you have one of these monitors? care to tell me how that went?

I have had my dell u2713hm for 4 years, and nothing is wrong with it, it was also perfect, here is the thing though, does that mean there is no problems with the monitor? yea right, the net is plagued with issued with this monitor! from coil whine, to blb, list goes on and on.

My friend has an acer 27" 144hz ips monitor (not making a case for acer, even though it sounds like i am, just happens he has an acer) I look at it and i see blb, and some uniformity issues, but when he looks at it he see's nothing. Everything is perfect for him! you see it also on top of all the other things i mentions is a person to person issues, some people have certain needs some dont. I have seen some people in this thread who were fine with a dead pixel, I wouldnt be, but I would be fine with a little blb, prob more then the next.

Considered this monitor, but the price was and is still too high at $1250-1300. With Benq 32" 4K(BL3201PH) at $900 I can't really justify paying 350-400 just for G-sync.

Well if u wanna nitpick my new Asus which is an IPS panel has a fair bit of IPS glow that can be seen on black screen when viewed close up- but its a trait of IPS panels nuttin to be done. But color accuracy and uniformity, an viewing angles are decent. And input lag is supposed to be only 9ms for this model.

I just had an XB1 here too, but also decided to return it. The backlight bleed on the lower right was just too distracting, not something I could adjust too. IPS glow level was actually acceptable. I'm not sure what to do now. 1440p doesn't seem like a worthwhile upgrade from my current 1200p. 4k is where it's at, but there's just so little choice right now, and probably will be for a long time.
