What's the deal with this display? Doesn't seem to be any buzz around it even though it has a lot of what people may be interested in. Yes it's only 60hz, but at 4k and with G-sync i think that is fine for now.

newegg has a listing for 1300 clams, i think 1000 is more a magic number and it'll probably hit that price quickly enough, but right now it's not even in stock. Anyone else interested in this monitor?

. I too can't seem to find much information on it. Has anybody else heard anything?
Friend of mine placed an order yesterday so i'll see when it actually will ship once they get some stock and try to get some hands on time with it as well to see how it performs and what the bleed/glow is like.

wow I've been waiting for some other models for month and this just seems to be popping into existence :)
This seems to be one of the cases were we have an early batch at alternate.de in Germany. I wonder what's wrong with it this time...

https://www.alternate.de/Acer/Predator-XB321HK-LED-Monitor/html/product/1238124?campaign=Monitor/Acer/1238124
The text says it will be shipped in 1-2days and it seems to be available for regular order (not preorder)

I tried the 4k 28" Acer before and everything was a little too small, especially for working (desktop, office and more) and I didn't want to upscale because I wasn't really happy with the result. I wonder if 32" is a good size for 4k and would love to try.
Price tag is 1099€ for this one. 800€ for XB271hu is already a lot. The question is where is the line most pro gamers won't cross...

I also have the XB280HK and feel the same way as you do. Tiny icons/text and somewhat off scaling just led to a mixed experience. Love the high resolution but after getting my XB270HU Ive also realized that I much prefer an IPS panel over TN (not to say TN is god awful like some on this site seem to think).

If this monitor has a good rep after the first wave or two of buyers I may consider replacing my current 4K display

Yup I'm in the same boat. I currently have the Samsung 28" 4k monitor. You can't adjust the height of the stand, and it uses a TN panel. I've since retired it and have used my OG Swift instead. 28" seemed too small for 4k as you all mentioned . This 32" seems perfect. It's the appropriate size and has GSYNC. I'm usually on top of my monitor game, but I had no idea this was a thing.

Uh-huh. I check monitor news daily from multiple sites but I had no clue of this one. Looks like I need some new sources.

I'm really kind of ticked off by scant amount of 32" 4k monitors, there are a bunch of 4k 40" korean panels floating around as well as name brand ones, but 40" is a bit too big for desk usage and they dont come with VRR either. I believe this Acer is the only 32" 4k VRR monitor with gsync, and then theres a samsung thats 31.5" with freesync i was looking at around $900, but it has PWM under 30% brightness which means running it around 150-160 nits to be PWM free and thats far too bright for a dark gaming room.

Looking at all the recent stuff announced with monitors looks to be filled with 27" and 28" 4k panels which completely defeats the purpose of 4k at such a small physical size, 32" isn't that much larger, but i feel its a very good spot for usability of 4k without scaling and a nice pixel density.

I just also caught wind of the Acer XR342CK which is a 3440x1440 30-75hz freesync monitor with a 1900R curvature :O I've kind of been avoiding 21:9 due to the compatibility complications, and it seems like just going with a 40" 4k monitor and using 3440x1440 when desired with that is a better choice due to best of both worlds.

We actually talked about it and he might be cancelling the order, not sure yet, but as DNMock said $1300 for this monitor does seem like robbery indeed. The 32" Samsung is $930 @ B&H and even that feels pricey when you can get even larger 4k smart tvs for less, granted they're going to have massive latency problems and no VRR, but being that it's freesync theres no expensive gsync tax involved, so i feel like Samsung just wanted to mark up the monitor a bit. Doesn't seem to be selling too well either on the count of the lack of user reviews on Amazon among other places.

I ordered it from newegg. just now and they are getting ready to ship it (from the order status). I should have it in 3 days.

I'm looking forward to playing the division and i'll see what the deal is with gysnc. I can't take it slow when other humans are shooting at me.

PQ > screen tearing > blur (for me)

This monitor will give me some time (if i can control myself) for the dell OLED for reviews to come out.

My gut tells me 4 way SLI and Gysnc are going have problems.

it is a shame the stand is so god damn ugly... and that is says predator on the front.

personally i'm not that worried about displaying only 60 - what i'm hoping is the games will run at there normal 90+ fps so i don't have any input lag. The output of the 60 doesn't care me. Vsync causing input lag does. Tearing sucks soo.. but not as much as vsync cased input lag
smile.gif
So Gysnc will do some magic that i can still run the game at high fps while not getting rips on my screen.
I've been play at 60hz forever now (and years at 4k). I'm not scared
smile.gif

and honestly i play most games on my 4k OLED TV anyway
smile.gif
- but for the division i'll need (so i don't suck vs humans) mouse and keyboard so i'll be playing on the monitor. I'll get a OLED monitor this year too. Looks matter to me more than anything. If i have to get tears with amazing pix and no blur on OLED - i don't care

G-SYNC is controlled by GPU settings in NVIDIA Control Panel, so you can turn it on/off there. There are two G-SYNC settings; one that applies G-SYNC to all fullscreen applications, and one that applies it to all fullscreen and windowed applications.

I'm starting to think the monitor is useless to me. I'm always above 60fps (that is why i have 4 Titan X cards) - so i'm not getting any jerky form dropping below 60 if i had vsync on.
And if i turned vysnc on i'm getting input lag cause 60 fps isn't enough to deal with crazy mouse movements not to feel "off". I'd rather have screen tearing and less lag..
unless i'm missing something? Gsync is only useful if you are dropping before the refresh rate of the monitor - which in this case is 60. I don't know what the magic number is for me that i don't "feel" off.. but it isn't 60
smile.gif
i'm guessing it is around 90.

oh well.. more wasted money on 4k monitors. It isn't like newegg will ever take anything back either. argh. note to self (that i always forget) never order from newegg and wait for it to be on amazon

While my purchases at amazon are not always perfect I agree they are wonderful compared to newegg for returns.

32" 4k with Gsync sounds pretty good. Will say though after experiencing this XB270HU I'm done with gaming monitors. Someone else can deal with crappy PQ. I'm in the process of looking into 4k TV's. I'll take a little input lag and great contrast and image quality over less input lag and sub-standard panels sold at excessive prices. If they're going to keep selling gaming monitors at the prices they are they need to put more effort into making the image on screen look like it's worth the price.
