Acer XB321HK 4k 32" G-Sync Monitor - Page 35

While i was waiting for it to arrive i came across this thread and the one on the official acer forums and it really worried me. I have set it up using the existing power and display port cables i already had from my dell ultrasharp 3008wfp and haven't noticed anything yet (i set it up around 5pm, it is now 12:15am at time of posting). However upon restarting to test on windows 10 i noticed not so great backlight bleed in the bottom right just before post (all black screen) but i do not notice it while using it in windows or games. also no dead pixels. Over the next few days i plan to excessively watch for this screen artifacting issue just to see if its really a design flaw or just occurring on a large percentage of screens as a manufacturing defect.

The model details i received from the side of the box:

Version: XB321HK bmiphz
P/N: UM.JX1EE.001
made in china Sep 2016

Does anyone else have this model?

I have until January 31st to return this to amazon according to my order list

Note: I have also posted this on the official acer forums.
My advice is if doesn't bother you during regular use- do not go looking for problems. Just enjoy it. Its unique monitor- no one else has a 32" 4k with Gsync- no one.

Mine is from january and has perfect pixels, near zero bleed (standard IPS) and no flashes or anything abnormal.
It's the perfect screen, really perfect and like the gentleman above mentioned: there is no other in its kind, it's unique and worth every penny I paid for it.

Hmm, maybe the artifacts are an hardware issue after all. It might be fixed in newer revisions?

The latest news is that Acer recommends you send in your XB321HK (but they probably will/can do nothing about it and send it right back):

A hardware issue might be too expensive for them to repair.

Lets hope the new 'revision' is simply a new 120+Hz model. Or at least one with overclockability to 120hz.. I'll sell this one immediately!

It is a hardware issue, or at least an oversight and/or a flaw. I mentioned a long time ago I havent got this issue, but I'm also affected.

It doesnt bother me though, a 100ms flicker every few hours is not really making me go nutballs about it. The screen is gorgeous.

Hurts the resell value significantly though.

Can somebody measure the input lag? One review says 20 other above 60, which one is correct?
I'd say 20 is high already. Gaming on this thing is bliss.

And if i turned vysnc on i'm getting input lag cause 60 fps isn't enough to deal with crazy mouse movements not to feel "off". I'd rather have screen tearing and less lag..
unless i'm missing something? Gsync is only useful if you are dropping before the refresh rate of the monitor - which in this case is 60. I don't know what the magic number is for me that i don't "feel" off.. but it isn't 60 smile.gif i'm guessing it is around 90.

oh well.. more wasted money on 4k monitors. It isn't like newegg will ever take anything back either. argh. note to self (that i always forget) never order from newegg and wait for it to be on amazon tongue.gif
you should be able to keep V-sync off and just gsync on and not get the lag and not get the tearing right? You'll still only refresh 60 times per second on screen but as long as you don't cap the fps you should be able to have higher behind the scenes fps.

So no V-sync , just g-sync. Don't cap if you want the game engine running faster in the background. That should be optimal.

*Edit* just realized this was 12 pages long and not 2. Please forgive my probably beaten to death comment.
