What is the question?

Should be good for the G3528, I would go skylake as I'm pretty certain weird stuff happens when you try to use normal DDR3.

I haven't needed to upgrade so not 100% sure but by the looks of this article (and others) if you want skylake you'll need DDR3L or DDR4

EDIT: Meaning a skylake build will cost more, what PC stuff that isnt being used do you have other than RAM, you might be able to use that HTPC hardware neednt be top of the line.

I'd say get the Pentium. With a basic board, you should be able to get it to 4.1GHz (my friend has a bad board/chip and got it to 4.2GHz). Only reason I say this is he says emulator, which would need a higher clock speed on two threads.

Asus says DDR3/DDR3L memory compatibility for this board H110I Plus D3 Intel H110 but anyway this wont be the place of purchase as there over priced but it will help overclockers.co.uk

Thanks
