Which could I oc the highest, a Xeon 5460 or similar, or my Phenom II 2 550 black? Assuming I'd go w/air and not more than $50 for the cooler?
I just can't believe that an older system could be oc'd on a "regular" mobo and play today's games (long) before problems melting something. If you had a board that was made to oc, yeah. If true, I have access to about a gazillion Core 2 duo systems in our recycle bin, sans ram.
Furthermore: 'playable' by himself, not against a modern pc. OK maybe a bios update helps his board. Slower ram and fps all depends on his card but ... Really? This sounds unbelievably cheap, even though it'll have no legs.
Thanks in advance,
