The funny thing for me is that I'm actually waiting for Pascal to release so I can snag some cheap 980Ti's! Two of them would provide me with more than enough power to play all my games at 1440p for at least the next 2-3 more years and hopefully I'll be able to find some here for $300-400...

Sounds like premature decision making to me, I'd like to see hard performance and price figures for both Pascal and Polaris before settling on any multi-gpu solution.

I always run multi gpu. My TJ11 simply looks too empty with a single card! biggrin.gif

I swore off multi-GPU after the disaster that was 2015. Really couldn't tell ya how happy I am to be back on single GPU again. To put it succinctly, less QQ and more pew pew. biggrin.gif

go tell that to Nvidia with their Titan card's initial release.

GTX680 = $500 @ 100%
Titan 1st = $1000 @ ~150%

thats double the price for +50% more performance.

Same here , at the very least I will upgrade past the 980's when the new gen is well established .

True, but at that time 1080p was mainstream.
Now 1080p is still mainstream, but there are many people eagerly waiting to get decent framerates @4K.
I guess they would pay double for just a 40% performance increase, if they can afford it. (and even buy a second one).

paying double for +40%...
well there'd be hell if the next Titan is priced $2000 and only provided +40%. lachen.gif
post #440 of 724
Well $2000 might be pushing it, but I'm still convinced a Pascal Titan with only +40% over Titan X could sell decently even at $1500. Unless of course AMD rips nVidia a new one.
