With those numbers and the above mentioned 30% gap (at 22 points rounded) a pair of Fury X would be chunking out at 106?

These numbers shown are a sign that the benchmark wasn't actually done.

Or did none of you notice they claimed the i7-5960X which is a 8 core 3.0ghz chip was running at 4.6GHz - a number that matches the upper limit of speed that Tom's got from the fastest of five purpose benched OC trial chips for SHORT periods of time. A completely possible result, but then why was the ram, DDR4, ONLY at 2666?

Gigabyte X99 UD? Ultra Durable model not a great OC board but able to reach 5.0. The power controller is an excellent component but you'd think they'd have remembered to switch the bus controller from SLi to XFire support? Guess not.

The real funny number here is the 295x2.. if it only lost 30% of the second card to xfire overhead we'd be looking at a play-out of 80+ on that chart - nomming the 980 4gb sli for lunch.

The chart is useless and probably spurious. I'd like to see the whole thing re-done with a 4.0ghz i7-6700K on a Z170 pushed to maybe 5.2. If you give nV enough processor to get their pointlessly complex drivers out of the way it doesn't give a good example.

With a decent water cooling loop, 4.6 isn't that tough to hit on a 5960X at all. The Crossfire Fury-X and the 295x2 numbers simply show that crossfire isn't supported in Fallout 4 at this time and that whomever ran the benchmarks didn't bother with using AFR.

Nobody questioned which one looks better, but the performance impact compared to the IQ upgrade was in question. Only a brainless justify the huge FPS drop over minuscule IQ update.

Could it be the fact that this patch introduced some nvidia specific features (weapon debris) and they tested nvidia cards with those features turned on? I can see on the graphic setting screenshot that weapon debris is set to max quality. That would be a pure amateurism on their part. I generally like gamegpu because they show you the segment of the game they are testing, but generally speaking one should never trust a single source when it comes to hardware benching. It's always the best to check out as many reviews as possible and make your own conclusion.

Aha!

With Borderlands 2 the performance hit is insane on my GTX 970, it makes sense because the GPU is doing graphics and physics processing at the same time but dropping to sub 30fps with PhysX on high is hardly a desirable choice.

Medium runs a little better, but I think it would be best to run a dedicated PhysX card in that game and most games which have a computationally demanding PhysX implementation.

My next upgrade it'll be Zen, then Polaris+. I need to reinforce my recent $1.78 stock purchase when it crashed the other week. I only bought 16 and I'm already ahead $4 including fees.

I think I'll get a Pascal "980ti" what ever the name is going to be called. Hopefully its under 800 bucks and can run 4k 60?

Skip Pascal and wait for the Ti Version

Every time a new GPU/CPU is coming out you see all these articles/fanboy blogs claiming 40% faster; biggest leap in performance since __Insert_Here___; 3 times faster than the current gen!

Every time the GPU/CPU get released and the *REAL* benchmarks show it was all a bag of lies. Small gains across the board over the last gen.

So heed my warning Pascal isn't going to be worth getting unless your like 3 generations behind or on some budget card.

I do not play videogames. Pascal will be worth it over the titan x. I do computational work.
