780 Ti was a response to 290X, so he's still correct.

It would be really nice to see the Ti version released not 5 months later..

I'm currently even itching to get a second r9 290x as with my new 1440 screen OC@96hz It's pretty rare for me to actually enjoy the 96 fps, latery I'm playing Witcher 2 and FPS drops are quite bad..

My 760w power supply would probably scream to death, or so I read, so maybe I would have to keep them at stock, but, what's sad with the non release of information prior to release (or close to release) is that we can't make decisions like that without involving some kind of gambling.. if we see big Pascal in 2h, then I can wait.. if it's going to need 10 months or so.. I might aswell grab a r9 290x and have fun with it, same applys to Polaris, whenever they planned their release..

Maybe you should read it. Knowing nvidia they will launch on the last day, April 7, 2016. They save the best for last. I'll come back to this post (if I'm correct LOL) thumb.gif

It will paper launch in April at GTC. Ready for market in six weeks. Remember the 980 launch. IMHO this will be just like that. Oh look we have a great new video card. 6 months later oh look we have better video card now.
It would be awesome if AMD shows up with masterblaster and resets prices. LIke when the 5870 vs the 480. Nvidia said I'm sorry we were so greedy with GTX 280 launch. You can have the 480 for $499. I still have my launch day 480 serial number 000069.
Come on AMD. The world is watching, waiting, hoping. We're tired of $699 enthusiast prices. *****Give us something good!

I simply found it amusing people use phrases such as "No way.." and "..never.." when discussing things that happen pretty much every couple years. Sounded a lot like an owner fearful of their purchase becoming obsolete soon after acquiring it convincing themselves it was worth.

Not saying he doesn't have a point, but then again who really thinks Nvidia will release something to replace an already released product unless forced? Always happens regardless, either due to competition or market saturation of the old product.

I'd bet Nvidia would be extremely happy to sit on a 4 year + product cycle if products sold as fast 3 years after launch as they do 3 months after launch. Could save a bunch on R&D, marketing and bringing products to market... Thankfully they're forced to release a new product sooner than every 4 years.

Well, honestly, I have a hard time believing that Big Pascal GP100 will be released first and so soon, but, if true, I can't think of a better birthday present for myself than a Titan XYZ and a 10 core Broadwell-E build. Don't cheat yourself, TREAT yourself, that's my motto......smile.gif

I'll get 2 of the new titans if they are worth it. I'm sure they will be if the rumors are true. Nvidia has a strong hand in the gpu game at this point. I'm sure they are going to bring the heat.

Still not a game I can't max at 4k or surround at this point with the Titan x's. If they release another great product I will support them.
