I've been looking around for benchmarks for CPU coolers to compare the performance of my custom loop to, but I haven't found anything online that actually compares CPU coolers by their cooling performance. Tom's Hardware for example just lists a bunch of suggestions, and says nothing about their relative performance. The nearest thing to what I was looking for was Anandtech, but they just mention the temperature delta, and no indication as to what the TDP of the CPU they were testing with was.

Instead, I would like to ask anyone who has an FX-8320 CPU to post their OS idle temps, temps after 1 min of load and what CPU cooler they have. Please use 3.5GHz (stock clock), and no overvolt, or it may cause incomparable results.

If you use SpeedFan, use TEMP1, if you use HWMonitor, use TMPIN0.

Once I have a sufficient amount of results, I'll put it all into a spreadsheet and make it available for anyone to read.
Thank you for your time!

You mean like this?

They use stable conditions and a heat source as opposed to a variable CPU. Not to mention keeping the other variables stable like ambient temperature. They been around for many many years, I think I first heard about them over a decade ago. They might not have every heatsink you are looking for to compare, but their list is huge.

Thanks, that's exactly what I was looking for!

There was a spreadsheet somewhere with a comparison of a lot of coolers including AIO's with various amounts of heat (from 100W to 400W I believe). I made the mistake of not saving it and now I can't find it anymore.

You should ask over in the air cooled forum. The people there have them at their fingertips.

I haven´t got an 8320 or any of the octacore, but runs my Vishera 4350 at a stable 5.1 Ghz, on an Antec 920 V4, at stable temps of 3.7 (idle) and 4.1 at load. (all degrees in C) So the problem is the revision of your exact CPU! Don´t think you can get any comparison tables of any given CPU! So you´re about to embark on an IMPOSSIBLE Voyage! But you CAN get some results: although costly: MX2, MX4, MX5 Ultra liquid, or Ultra Liquid Pro? Just for starters! SO: if you want to make any kind of chart: of CPU-coolers you have to take EVERY POSSIBLE aspect into consideration: If you want to devote your life to this: You have a life´s work ahead of you.
But stay true to your goal, even if it is demanding your life!
Good Luck
FP
