Rival 700 (new mouse thread) - Page 23

I play WoW and I would never use that Rival500 abomination or any 11-12 btn mouse

just ugh

I do make use of the 2 extra keybinds via wheel tilts, but even that is not mandatory .. I could play just fine on a 6-7 btn mouse

Depth: 41.97mm, 1.65in
Short cable length (non-braided): 1m, 3.28 ft
Long cable length (braided): 2m, 6.5 ft

only 5 g difference
That weight for the Rival 300 is with cable; the weight for the 700 is without. The R300 is somewhere between 105-110g without cable, I forget exactly how much offhand. Not to mention that it's a much bigger mouse so it'd feel lighter even at the same weight anyway. The R700 is a brick.

why do you think R300 is with cable ? usually the weight is given w/o cable

Because several people here have weighed the mouse before. And it actually used to be the norm for companies to list the weight with cable, only somewhat recently did they realize that it's a worthless measurement and started giving us weight w/o cable. In fact I think the R700 was initially listed with cable at like 160g or near there and people freaked out thinking it was without cable.

The Rival 700 is still getting the most time out of my mice, but I'm still hoping for a Rival 600 with the same shape/build quality and reduced weight or slightly shorter. Or at least give GameSense support for Overwatch. Kinda pointless to have vibration function that works with like ... 3 games.
Agreed, 3 games is nowhere near enough. As I stated, it's one of the features I can't use.

I have the 502 also, the weight distribution is completely different. I won't use the 502 anymore because the weight is so lopsided which make one use the weights to even it out but it just never gets evened out enough.
If you're a user that picks up their mouse all the time to readjust I can see it being an issue but I'd say this is the first time I rarely have to do that much with this mouse.

Have you used the 700? It's built very well, solid, like a tank. Zero complaints here on the build. I saw no difference in usability between SS and Logitech software, they both do the same thing for their respective mice.
The G900 is also a 150$ mouse. Even though there are features I can't use on the rival, it would be the same with the Logitech, for 50$ more.

I'm glad it's working out for you, but I don't really know what kind of games you play at which level, there are so many different factors for each person, and so far this mouse hasn't been designed to reach out to the majority like the Rival 300 did. (With the exception of size)

Even though I don't seem to like it, I would have bought it if it was priced like a normal mouse, but this thing is 2X the cost of any high tier mouse out there and for what? Useless features. Just can't justify the price <> what you get.

I'm almost 90% certain that you like it because of the shape and sensor, which is definitely a step in the right direction, but everything else brings it down.

Can't argue here, if you want to take advantage of features and can't, I can see how some avoid it. For me it was tracking and mouse wheel. Weight was an issue but as I said, it's distributed very evenly, I don't feel how heavy it it unless I pick it up which is rare with this mouse - for me anyway.

No haven't bothered with the Rival 700 simply because it's the SAME shape as their older Rival models, which aren't too inspiring for me. A little too narrow towards the front of the mouse with a huge wide-arse in the rear. As much as I love booty in general, definitely NOT on my input devices.

Maybe when they start selling any Rival700 off cheaply, in some fire sale then I might acquire it but again I wouldn't be impressed with the shape, due to it being nothing extraordinary. Unlike the G900, which has a totally NEW shape, compared to anything out there at this moment in time.

As you can guess by now, I'm a Hard Core G900 fan and am totally proud of it yessir.gif .

As you should be. It's killing most of what's out, & it will kill most of what comes out the rest of this year.

I wouldn't call the G900 "totally NEW shape". It's just an ambidextrous mouse with logi spaceship design. If anything the g303 should be called totally new - diamond-shaped, cramp-inducing ambi mouse? tongue.gif

Regarding shape, I was skeptical at first but now I like mice with raised butts (Rival 300/700 and Zowie ZA Series). I had such high hopes for the ZA13 Omron (Benq), but Zowie switched back to huano due to double clicking with omron.

Mice with full "waist" like the G900 or the Castor I'm still on the fence about. Overall I like them for mobas, but quickly flicking the mouse in fps doesn't seem comfortable to me as the narrow waist counterpart (sensei/za/fm).

There you go with my mice preference. I like my mice like I like my women, narrow waisted with big butts biggrin.gif
