Rival 700 (new mouse thread) - Page 27

Does anyone have experience with SteelSeries "ExactTech" stuff?

Especially "ExactAccel" and "ExactAim". They seem like a way to have customizable mouse acceleration without giving up on linearity throughout the normal movement speeds of a mouse.

god damn it my body is so ready for a Rival700 RAW

strip the gimmicks & weight, lower the price (although Id buy the RAW even at 90-100 EUR)

do you guys think there is a chance of that happenning ?

So hard to predict Steelseries - personally an optical Sensei should have been done ages ago - they basically own(ed) that extremely well received shape, so practically this should be their Deathadder that gets reiterated on a regular basis. I never fully got why they pushed the Rival shape so hard to begin with, however have to say it works extremely well for me - Deathadder on the other hand doesn't suit me at all.

If they launch an 3310 or 3366 Sensei or Raw 700 I would probably go for one of those - unless Dream Machines or Nixeus doesn't come up with their 3366 Sensei shape variants ahead of Steelseries.

Im so desperate for a Rival 700 RAW I actually thought of trying Rival 100 especially since its only 30 EUR .. but the shape looks so different from Rival 300/700 - I dont think there is anything left there of my beloved RIval 300 right handed ergonomics/comfort grip except for the rubber sides ... I might hate it mad.gif

whereas Rival700 has the shape, but it has the weight and the premium price ..

anyone here tried Rival 100 ? did you hate the shape/grip ? is it in any way similar to Rival 300 or completely different experience ?

although Rival 100 is probably also too small for me .. I tried the Kone Pure Military in a store once and it was so small and light it was unusable for my large hand .. Rival 100 looks to be only slighty longer and a bit heavier so its probably still too small

Rival 100 feels like a genuine budget mouse. Sensor is meh, buttons are annoying (for me) even though I'd say it's a great mouse for its price, and good for those who just want a cheap mouse and doesn't care about high tier performances, but I wouldn't compare it to a Rival 300/700 thats for sure.

EC2-A is close to the Rival 300 shape, and smaller in size, could be a good replacement until steelseries figures their stuff out. Not sure if you have tried it and everybody hates it here but, a Deathadder is imo still the one that has the best sensor I've ever tried, I prefer it much more than the G303 aswell.

And yes the Rival 100 is small.

I can shine some light on the Rival 100. I like others here have become a mouse snob. If it doesnt have a 3310, 3988, or 3360 I immediately have no respect for the mouse. However i bought the rival 100 because it was on sale for 25 bucks on amazon, and I just needed to buy another mouse to get my fix for the week. I was using the Gigabyte xm300 for a few weeks, and I generally lean towards larger ergo mice with my 21 cm hand. Without writing you a 5 page love letter of why I love the rival 100, I will just say that I have found my spirit mouse. Its honestly crazy, like its my soulmate. Everytime I talk myself out of using it and pick up any other of my 12 mice I always go back to it. Here is the facts brother.

1 The mouse is light
2 It's shape was apparently crafted by the gods to fit my 21 cm hand perfectly in a fingertip grip. Yes.. Thats a fact
3 Its affordable

I play at 500 dpi and the sensor is flawless. People can knock the 3050, and I usually would too, but they did a great job with the 3059 variant. I hate the fact I love this mouse honestly. Its like finding your soulmate and realizing she is 300 lbs and not that pretty. You try dating hotter dream like women that just play hard to get, and when you get them you just arnt that satisfied. Then you call up your big girl and she flies over to your house and you just have sloppy amazing sex, and you just love every minute of it. So yea, I love the rival 100, even with its plastic side grips, 'inferior sensor' and 250 incremented cpi stages.

I've tried both and it's a completely different experience. Rival 100 has that \___/ shape which I am not a fan of as it feels like holding the mouse from underneath. On the left side I could probably get used to it but on the right side it means that there is very little support for pinky/ring finger. I like the right side of Rival 300 much more but the mouse could be slightly smaller (sigh). I mean, with 19cm hand I could definitely use it comfortably, but I like to use different grip styles depending on what I am doing and Rival 300 kinda forces me to palm grip it.

I will continue waiting for that dream mouse that might come one day
