Rival 700 (new mouse thread) - Page 29

well out of all mice Rival 700 is still the closest I see to my perfect mouse, just the weight and that a sniper button idk about

my hand is 20.5-21cm, Im really afraid my thumb will conflict with sniper btn placement, it happened on G502 .. and I dont know where I can try it out before buying it ...

weight is not ideal, but I game at 2500 (or at least 2000) so it may not be an issue

Users that have this mouse should try it on a speed type of mouse pad. The weight becomes a non issue really.

I feel like I'm the only one that sees the weight as a non issue, love this mouse. Put it on a control pad and yes weight will be an issue.

No where i know of to try it prior. Just gotta chance it with Amazon. SS has a good return policy as well. No issues with them.

Some of us like to grip and lift their mouse. Weight is an issue regardless of pad.

Its not as big an issues as one might think. I do that a lot too, and there is a difference, but its really not that bad. Best mouse i've ever used, regardless of weight. I can and have overlooked the weight because everything else with the mouse is just that good.

Hi, just bought 700.

Sniper Button

my hand is about 19cm from wrist to edge of middle finger and has 20cm span (from thumb to pinky finger).

I can't even touch those sniper button with my usual palm grip. See those double orange dash? my thumb would rest precisely at that spot. Even if my thumb reach the sniper button, it's rather flat - just slightly protruding, not annoying at all. Much flatter and not annoying compared to G402 or G502. For comparison my thumb would hit sniper button annoyingly with G502 and just slight touching with G402's.

my base thumb is probably 0.8-1cm away from the edge of sniper button, and if I flex my thumb to the longest reach, I just barely hit the sniper button and it's still hard to press due to the flatness. Also it's made from matte plastic, I hate glossy thing in my thumb, so it's nice for me.

Weight
I'm rather casual gamer so read my opinion with grain of salt.

The weight is noticable for me (I used to 110gr mouse), but not in annoying way. It also feels much lighter with fingertip grip (mainly I'm palm).
BUT, I feel the need to use more power to move the mouse from initial/stop position. If the mouse already moving, it doesn't feel too heavy.
So far I don't really think about weight when gaming but I feel it sometimes when browsing. Hardcore gamers may be different.

So maybe it's good with faster mousepad? I'm using Razer Destructor 1 as my pad.
Oh yeah, I used to 1800dpi, but I feel Rival 700 a bit slow (maybe due to weight), so I set it to 2000 dpi and it's good.
