I'm plugging a 6 pin PCI cable and an 6+2=8 PCI connector.

Correct?

I believe you are connecting 2 8+2 PCIE cables ?

Isn't that what the 980ti classy needs?

If it is a 6pin and a 8pin then yes

just make sure to put the +2 on the correct side the clip should be centered

Btw I currently have a Gtx 580 plugged in I think it's also 6 and 8 pin connector?

Do you see the four 6+2 pin cables.

You would be plugging those in, you just clip the two pin to the side of the 6 pin to make an 8. There should be like kind of an overlapping plastic latch built into them that sort of nestles them together but you have to hold them. For the six pin slot you just let the two pin hang.

alright then just leave out the extra +2 pins when connecting the 6pin but make sure to use the extra +2 for the 8pin or just do what you did for the 580 if it is also a 6 and 8pin
