How has it hurt legitimate purchasers?

After spent some hours in X1 version, I expect the system requirement to be high.

Benchmark suggests GTX970 + I5/I7 is getting 1080P/47fps while GTX980TI at 1440P/51ishfps. So Nvidia's recommendation is pretty generous

They always super inflate requirements just in case.

I would trade better visuals for high fps any day. Give me an amazing visual experience at a solid 30 fps and I'll be happy

Weak. Give me two 16K 240hz screens (with gpu capable of running them at 240 fps).

Hey, AMD put the idea in my head.

I get your reasoning. I'm the same, quality over quantity. But in some games, especially shooters or action games. 55+ feels like a must or things feel sluggish really quickly.
